Role Mission: The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by 2 years in just one school year. The IDEA interventionist plays a crucial part in ensuring that all students are prepared to successfully participate in IDEA&rsquo;s AP for All initiative. This is an approach to academic intervention used to provide systematic, and appropriately intensive assistance to children who are at risk for or already underperforming as compared to appropriate grade- or age-level standards. Intervention teachers will use universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research-based instruction and interventions for students who continue to have difficulty.
This position is grant-funded with Title I Part A funds. This is a grant-funded position and funding may be extended. A grant-funded position has no guarantee of ongoing and indefinite employment. All duties and responsibilities tied to this position are allowable and allocable to the grant. The employee will work solely (100%) on allowable activities outlined in the grant program.

 Position Summary
 
 
 
 The teacher will be expected to establish and foster a positive classroom environment where students are given the opportunity to develop academically and socially. The teacher will also be expected to maintain compliance with district policies and initiatives as supervised by the site administrator. Positive and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and all stakeholders are expected.
 
 
 
 Qualification Requirements

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
 </li>
 <li>
 Teaching certification recognized by the State of Oklahoma
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience with children or in a classroom setting is preferred

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Maintain all records and the comprehensive computer database necessary to complete the annual child counts and other state and federal reports required by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Teaches academic content as designated to pupils in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and activities aligned to current state standards.
 </li>

 Adheres to district and school policies as set forth by district/site handbooks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to provide a learning environment that allows all students to feel safe and successful.
 </li>
 <li>
 Instructs pupils in basic subject matter specified in state law and regulations and procedures of the school district.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitors and evaluates pupils' academic and social growth toward goals, make adjustments as needed, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with other professional staff members in assessing and providing interventions/resources for pupils&rsquo; health, social-emotional, and academic needs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Enhances professional pedagogy through in-service education provided by the district and self-selected professional growth opportunities. In addition to this, sets goals for professional growth and seeks guidance.
 </li>
 <li>

Job Description
This position provides one-on-one and small group academic support to TRIO Student Support Services participants, with a focus on improving academic skills, retention, and persistence. The Academic Tutor works in collaboration with faculty, advisors, and student support services to assist students in developing effective learning strategies, study skills, and academic confidence. This position supports the delivery of tutoring, workshops, and academic skill-building services that help students succeed independently.
Salary Range: $21.89 - $31.44
Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)<ul><li>
Associate degree or higher in Liberal Arts AND at least one academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in the liberal arts at the high school level or above, OR</li><li>
An equivalent combination of education and work experience.</li></ul> 
Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job)<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree</li><li>
Experience providing 1:1 and small group tutoring in Liberal Arts courses at the postsecondary level.</li><li>
Experience monitoring student progress and collaborating with faculty to support academic achievement.</li><li>
Experience facilitating workshops or small group academic support sessions.</li><li>
Knowledge of TRIO Student Support Services program goals and federal regulations.</li><li>
Experience working with diverse student populations in a community or technical college setting.</li><li>
Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and provide constructive feedback.</li><li>
Familiarity with policies and issues affecting low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities.</li><li>
