The Department of Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Teaching Associate- Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C). The successful candidate&rsquo;s primary site of practice will be UWMC-Northwest Gamma Knife Center, but may be asked to shift work to other UW/FHCC Radiation Oncology sites of practice if the clinical need arises.
The selected candidate will be proposed for appointment to the full-time faculty as a Teaching Associate at the University of Washington with an anticipated start date of July 2026 or earlier. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. The Radiation Oncology APP is a certified advanced practice provider whose integrated role encompasses both clinical care and education. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

</li><li>Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and ongoing evaluations. Order, interpret and manage laboratory and radiographic studies. Prescribe medications and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
</li><li>Manage acute medical issues that arise during radiation treatment and provide acute symptom guidance for patients on therapy as well as guidance into survivorship for late effects of radiation.
</li><li>Collaborate with subspecialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care. Facilitate referrals to community agencies and supportive care resources.

The University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology&ndash;Head and Neck Surgery is seeking one full-time ARNP or PA at the rank of Teaching Associate. The Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) deployed at UWMC Mountlake and Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC), is a member of a tertiary care Otolaryngology-HNS team that includes 14 attending physicians, 25 residents, 7 APPS, as well as audiologists, speech language pathologists and over 50 support staff.
The candidate will be an integral member of our Head &amp; Neck Surgery and Oncology team. Clinically, the applicant will be responsible for providing services independently and collaboratively in the outpatient environment including initial and ongoing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patient&rsquo;s medical status. This is a Teaching Associate position in the Department of Otolaryngology Head &amp; Neck Surgery. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The anticipated start date is May 1, 2026. Experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Desired Experience
<ul><li>Clinical expertise in the care of surgical and oncologic patients.
</li><li>Training and experience in the provision of otolaryngology care including initial assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and management of non-surgical Otolaryngology indications: oral cavity lesions, head &amp; neck skin cancer patients including melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma, dysphagia, chronic cough, chronic sinusitis, conducting pre/post op visits, performing sino-nasal endoscopy, and cerumen removal.

<ul><li>Provide complex and problem-focused surveillance care, screening/diagnostic evaluation, management, and follow-up with otolaryngology patients.

This APP team member will be deployed full-time within the Division of Rhinology.
The Rhinology team includes four fellowship trained faculty surgeons and a dedicated clinical support staff (RN, coordinator, and medical assistant). Our team is a distinguished group of fellowship trained surgeons that practice the full spectrum of patient care related to conditions of the nose, sinuses and skull base. The APP will be fully integrated into a supportive care team model that strives for excellence within a rich and immersive clinical care environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing services independently and collaboratively with appropriate privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment, as well as diagnosis and treatment of the patient&rsquo;s medical condition.
Position Details:
Full-time (1.0 CFTE), Outpatient Ambulatory APP, Day Shift, 40 hrs/week.
This APP will hold a Teaching Associate faculty position in the Department of Otolaryngology Head &amp; Neck Surgery (ENT). This faculty position has an annual service period of 12-months (July 1 - June 30). The anticipated start date is March 1, 2026. New graduates are welcome to apply.
Standards of Practice and Performance
1. Collaborate with an inter-professional team including surgeons, residents and fellows, nurses, medical assistants, and coordinators across a variety of medical and surgical sub-specialties to provide high quality patient- and family-centered care at the #1 Health Institution in the State of Washington (UW Medicine) and within a Nationally Ranked ENT Department.
2. Independently and collaboratively provide comprehensive care for patients with conditions that affect the nose, sinuses, and skull base. The APP will have a mix of independent and shared clinical deployment.
3. Deliver timely and problem-focused initial assessment of the patient&rsquo;s medical condition. Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging in a timely manner. Provide management and follow-up care for patients with disorders of the nose, sinuses, and skull base. Candidates can expect direct mentorship with three fellowship trained sinus and skull base surgeons.
4. Participate as an integral member of the sinus and endoscopic skull base surgery team through the development of collaborative and innovative practices, and evaluation of patient care outcomes.
5. Communicate in a professional and respectful manner with all members of the health care team whether through verbal, email or secure text communication.
6. Participate in improvement projects focused on quality and operations. Participate in and support the rhinology division&rsquo;s education, research and quality initiatives.
7. Provide patient and/or family with health education, counseling and referrals to other health professionals and community resources as appropriate.
8. Attend and participate in the monthly rhinology faculty meetings.
9. Follow the UW Medical Center &ndash; Montlake&rsquo;s professional behavior policy and procedures.
Service APP Duties
1. Patient/family/provider communication about disease and treatment and how it relates to patient values, priorities, and goals of care across the care spectrum.
2. Provide ambulatory clinical care within the Rhinology clinic Monday-Friday. Evaluate patients within template clinic time and as needed.
3. Contribute to the plan of care and communicate directly with patients, families and the care team.
4. Promote a collaborative approach to decision making with appropriate interdisciplinary consultation.
5. Ensure appropriate and timely hand-off of patient care when absent from clinic.

</div><div></div>The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member for their Sarcoma Program. The position will be dual appointed with a primary faculty appointment in the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and a secondary appointment in the UW Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology. Reporting to the Clinical Research Division Senior Vice President (SVP) and Sarcoma Program Head, the Director of Clinical Research for Sarcoma will be charged with expanding clinical research initiatives specifically related to Sarcoma. The position will be at the assistant, associate, or full professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This position is designed for a physician who will provide strategic direction and business development with a strong vision to develop and grow the Fred Hutch Sarcoma Clinical Research Program. This leader will contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in research in the biology and treatment of sarcomas and closely related conditions. The successful candidate is expected to: i) lead Fred Hutch&rsquo;s Sarcoma Clinical research operations and ii) galvanize multi-disciplinary translational research within Fred Hutch. The successful candidate will enter a vibrant and dynamic research environment with an opportunity to lead and to collaborate with basic, translational, public health, and clinical sarcoma researchers across diverse disciplines. The University of Washington School of Medicine is the designated medical school for Alaska, Montana and Idaho, which, with Washington, form the WAMI region. The Fred Hutch is the only NCI designated Cancer Center in WAMI, providing unique research and clinical opportunities in this largely rural area. The candidate will serve as an academic, clinical and educational leader charged with organizing, directing and expanding the clinical research efforts of an established team of sarcoma clinicians. The successful candidate will also foster and further develop an environment that facilitates clinical and translational research.
This position will have primary oversight of the sarcoma clinical research program and will oversee the strategic planning, implementation and management of clinical research activities focused on sarcoma. This position will play a pivotal role in advancing the FHCC mission of combatting cancer through impactful clinical and translational research. Priorities include: developing new research collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and national trials, building strong partnerships among researchers and staff, integrating trials across and between different stakeholders, leading and facilitating translational research collaborations in sarcoma across the Cancer Consortium, educating and training researchers in sarcoma, and creating a vision for the future of sarcoma and its treatment for the region in collaboration with other oncology leaders.
The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinician Scholar track and will devote approximately 40% of time to sarcoma clinical care. The remainder of the candidate&rsquo;s time will be protected for research and administrative tasks associated with the Fred Hutch sarcoma, clinical and research programs, in addition to teaching and mentorship.
Fred Hutch and University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities will include coordination of informal teaching and formal didactics with affiliated training and fellowship programs, for clinicians, and the general medical community.
<div>University of Washington assistant professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments and associate and full professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that both align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Program Overview

The Advanced Care Partner Program creates a team-care structure to collaborate with PCPs who are managing complex patient panels.

The ACP &quot;care team&quot; model pairs a highly clinically experienced provider (ACP) with a PCP to collaborate closely by sharing the care and continuity management of the patient panel. The PCP's task queue provides the focus of this collaborative platform whereby the Advanced Care Partner devotes their work to keeping all categories within SLAs, provides real time responses to patient messages, follows up with chronic care monitoring and management, and intimately understands the patient panel &quot;as their own&quot;, such that complex patients are known well, medical issues are managed efficiently, highest quality conversations engage patients' trust, and continuity of care between the patient and two providers is seamless and exemplary. Further, the ACP care-team model promotes career-sustainability, mitigates the potential for decision fatigue, prevents practice isolation, and addresses burn-out risk factors. The program prioritizes well-being and belonging for both patients and PCPs.

Advanced Care Partner Role:

The Advanced Care Partner is a full-time, remote clinician who works business hours live online with a team of PCP peers, a clinical supervisor, and the Clinical Case Management team of Care Navigators and nurses, as needed, for highly complex cases. The ACP will partner with approximately 5 PCPs and their patient panels, owning these shared panels with longitudinal accountability over time.

The ACP is responsible for maintaining task category SLAs, including but not limited to:

<li>Answering clinical questions from patients and engaging in clinical dialogue to complete these conversations.</li>
<li>Clinical decision-making resulting from information coming from messages, lab results, and consults.</li>
<li>Owning medication changes, titrations, and adjustments for chronic conditions as needed.</li>
<li>Providing video visits and phone follow-up care as needed.</li>
<li>Completing clinical paperwork such as disability, FMLA, home health sign-offs.</li>
<li>Attention to closing patient care gaps, creating orders and follow up as needed</li>
<li>Processing Consults and providing related follow up management/care as needed.</li>
<li>Referrals to and collaboration with Clinical Case Management.</li>
<li>Providing urgent visit patient scheduling as needed.</li>
<li>Providing continuity of care longitudinally.</li>
