This position is a great opportunity for practicing lawyers looking to transition out of a law firm as well as claim professionals with casualty claims experience.
In this role, the Complex Claims Director will have a unique opportunity to handle and adjust all facets of Casualty claims in a highly collaborative team environment, dedicated to best in class claims handling. 
Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<div><ul><li>
Manage and adjust Casualty claims impacting primary and excess policies while ensuring the highest level of customer service and technical claim file quality.</li><li>
Proactively handle claims from first notice of loss through ultimate resolution, while advising internal partners and meeting with clients and brokers.</li><li>
Collaborate and partner with the insured and broker in the handling and adjudication of claims.</li><li>
Analyze policy language, draft coverage letters as appropriate and communicate coverage positions effectively.</li><li>
Conduct, coordinate, and proactively handle the investigation process and ensure timely resolution of claims.</li><li>
Directly and closely monitor assignments to experts and defense counsel as necessary.</li><li>
Evaluate information related to coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.</li><li>
Draft reports, set reserves within authority, and make claim recommendations concerning reserve changes.</li><li>
Travel to conferences, mediations, customer meetings, and trials as necessary.</li></ul></div> 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:<div> 
<ul><li>
A minimum of 5 years of experience handling Casualty claims, or matching equivalency.</li><li>
Ability to demonstrate technical competence in the handling of specialized claims.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources.</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal, communication, investigative and negotiation skills.</li><li>
Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience in handling and adjusting claims in multiple jurisdictions and must possess, or successfully obtain, the required adjuster licenses.</li><li>

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience. How you'll make an impact

Apply claims management experience to execute decision-making to analyze claims exposure, plan the proper course of action, and appropriately resolve claims.</li><li>
Interact extensively with various parties involved in the claim process to ensure effective communication and resolution.</li><li>
Provide exceptional customer service to our claimants on behalf of our clients exhibiting empathy through each step of the claims process</li><li>

About You<div> 
Ideal candidates for this position will have:
 
<ul><li>Claims Background: Minimum 3 years of experience adjusting a workers compensation desk, including lost time/indemnity and litigation.</li><li>Jurisdictional Experience: NY, MA</li><li>Active Adjusters' licenses: Must have state license or reciprocal.</li></ul>
