<div><div><b>Summary:</b> The PRN Laboratory Technician will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the lab. They will aid in research related activities and clinical research including collecting blood, urine/stool or tissue samples, and processing/shipping biological samples, as well as maintaining all laboratory documentation and supplies. This person must have a minimum of 12 months of laboratory experience in a healthcare setting and be able to understand laboratory priorities and establish a workflow to complete all required activities in a timely manner.</div><div>
The PRN Lab Technician must be organized, excel at multi-tasking, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and be able to provide high quality patient care. This person will collaborate very closely with other members of the Summit Pinnacle Clinical Research team and therefore must be highly collaborative, goal-oriented, flexible, and communicative. Perform lab tests, collect subject specimens, and process samples according to corresponding study lab manual</li><li>
Responsible for daily phlebotomy (venipuncture, IV catheter or capillary collections) and specimen processing, and biological sample shipping using universal precautions</li><li>
Uses proper tools such as appropriate needle gauge and type of needle (straight needle, butterfly, or IV catheter) and judgment to obtain optimum specimens while minimizing discomfort and hazards for the patient</li><li>

Applies foundational knowledge of biostatistics and AI principles to inform study design and algorithm development.</li><li>
Tests, debugs, and validates models in partnership with technical and clinical teams.</li><li>
Ensures adherence to ethical guidelines for the use of patient data in research and development.</li><li>
Works closely with the Artificial Intelligence in Health Lab (AIH-Lab) and the BD-STEP program to advance clinical informatics research.</li><li>
Leverages clinical expertise to refine machine learning models, ensuring clinical relevance and accuracy.</li><li>
Collaborates on the integration of clinical datasets into broader health informatics systems.</li><li>
Provides expert annotations for training large language models (LLMs) and NLP algorithms, focusing on healthcare-specific use cases.</li><li>
Presents findings in department meetings and seminars and support grant writing and funding initiatives.</li><li>
Mentors trainees or junior team members in clinical informatics and research methods as needed.</li><li>
