Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Manager/Designee and the general direction of the medical staff the Cardiac Cath Lab Lead Technician is responsible for professional patient care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac intervention upon admission to the department. The Cath Lab Technician Lead utilizes the patient care process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care. The Cath Lab Lead Technician in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory supports the medical care of all patient requiring any cardiac or peripheral intervention under the direction of the medical staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This person ensures a safe environment for the patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members. The Cath Lab Technician lead acts to provide care in a competent, effective and cost effective manner.</p><p><b>

Observes all precautions when treating medically compromised patients</li><li>

Job Duties</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
Assists the investigator with the enrollment (recruiting, screening, and interviewing) and study consent process of patients into the Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Trial Studies.</li><li>
Explain the study&rsquo;s processes and procedures to educate the study participants.</li><li>
Responsible for assisting the Principle Investigator with collecting and recording study data related to catherization procedures, cardiac measurements, and related test and measurement for the study.</li><li>
Assist the Principle Investigator as necessary with electronic case reporting requirements in accordance with all FDA and clinical trial study requirements.</li><li>
Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.</li><li>
May perform research related procedures as required such as venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs/ECG&rsquo;s and obtain vital signs on study participants.</li><li>
Corresponds with patient throughout study.</li><li>
Interacts with sponsors and/or coordinating sites as required to facilitate protocol activities and maintains current study documents.</li><li>
Collects, processes and stores or ships blood or biological specimens as outlined per study protocols and associated lab or procedural manuals, in accordance with IATA Guidelines.</li><li>
Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for the research study.</li><li>
Schedules research participant for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific study visits for the research protocol.</li><li>
Retrieves and submits test results to the appropriate party.</li><li>
May assist with the supply orders and equipment necessary for the study.</li><li>
Assists in reviewing protocol documents, including abstracts, text, and informed consent for relevant information.</li><li>
Prepares documentation necessary to obtain initial and continued approval for the specific research protocol.</li><li>
Collaborates with physician, mid-level practitioners, and research nurses and data managers to document patient care.</li><li>
Conducts subject research study education as required within the scope of practice.</li><li>
Submits serious adverse event reporting and follow up as needed.</li><li>
Evaluates and analyzes clinical research data as appropriate.</li><li>
