We are seeking a collaborative and proactive intern to support the Policy and Public Affairs team. This position will be responsible for drafting and editing communications materials, assisting with media monitoring, supporting digital and social media efforts, and helping the team track and communicate developments across Democracy Forward's litigation and advocacy work.</p>

Democracy Forward's office is based in Washington, DC. Interns are expected to be in the office an average of 2-3 days per week. The internship program is anticipated to run from May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026.</p>

The Need</div><div>
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM&rsquo;s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking an Executive Intern to join the 2026 Fall Internship class.</div><div></div><div>
The Executive Intern will support various initiatives executed by the CEO's Office, which provides oversight and leadership to IJM&rsquo;s 1,400 person workforce. Tasks may include:</div><ul><li>
Supporting Board of Directors meetings;</li><li>
Supporting general executive administration priorities;</li><li>
Assisting with internal communications; and</li><li>

This position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays) in the Washington, DC area. It reports to the Coordinator, CEO&rsquo;s Office. The position requires 30-40 hours per week, primarily during the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm EST. As volunteers, interns and fellows receive a monthly stipend to help defray their expenses related </i><i>to participating in</i><i> the internship program. This volunteer stipend is not an hourly wage, nor wages paid for services provided by the intern or fellow.</i></div><div></div><div><i>
