Your role at a glance
The Construction Manager (CM) plays a critical role in ensuring that all construction activities performed by the General Contractor, subcontractors, and suppliers on site meet or exceed project specifications, contract documents, NTT Standards, industry standards, and quality expectations. The CM provides proactive, field-based oversight of safety, quality, schedule, and commissioning activities through consistent site engagement. This role is specifically focused on larger sites where complexity or long-term construction activity warrants dedicated leadership for successful delivery of new Major Capital projects, including project oversight, direction, and strategy over multiple $100+ Million data center construction projects, particularly relating to safety, schedule, scope, and quality. The role supports the onsite Project Manager by identifying and documenting safety and quality findings and driving corrective actions to deliver a high-quality project on schedule.
What we are looking for
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Spend 70-80% of time in the field conducting daily/regular site walks, visual inspections, and spot checks across all active work areas to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
</li><li>Support QA/QC activities across phased installations to ensure compliance with NTT L1&ndash;L3 standards.
</li><li>Provide direct oversight of the General Contractor's EHS (environmental health and safety) processes, including review and monitoring of their safety plan implementation, toolbox talks, weekly safety communication and onsite walks.
 </li><li>Monitor daily field activities to verify safe work practices and alignment with NTT safety requirements.
</li><li>Provide direct oversight of the General Contractor's quality control processes, including review and monitoring of their QC plan implementation, Inspection &amp; Test Plans (ITPs), material testing, and workmanship.
</li><li>Verify ongoing construction activities align with the Site-Specific Quality Control Plan and NTT standards.
</li><li>Perform and document inspections of critical construction activities (e.g., concrete placement, reinforcement installation, structural steel erection, waterproofing, finishes, and systems integration) and coordinate third-party testing as required.
</li><li>Verification of First of a Kind / Benchmark Installations and ensure lessons learned are applied to subsequent work.
</li><li>Conduct regular quality audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and requirements.
</li><li>Inspect materials, equipment, and construction techniques to verify compliance with quality benchmarks.
</li><li>Conduct QAQC Tag Inspections in coordination with General Contractor for each phase of the quality and commissioning program.
</li><li>Document findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations for improvement in collaboration with the PM.
</li><li>Deliver detailed site observation reports, audit findings, and lessons learned.
</li><li>Identify, document, and report non-conformances, defects, or deviations from contract requirements; collaborate data driven action plans with the NTT Project Manager/Design Manager, GC superintendents, and subcontractors to implement timely corrective and preventive actions.
</li><li>Review (or recommend approval/rejection of) GC-submitted materials, shop drawings, method statements, and mock-ups related to quality aspects.
</li><li>Monitor quality program metrics to evaluate the project&rsquo;s performance. Analyze said metrics to understand the root cause of any disconcerting trends and then work with the applicable parties to correct those items.
</li><li>Attend required construction meetings such as the weekly project and monthly global QA/QC meeting, and daily start-up and commissioning meetings and EHS meetings.
</li><li>Maintain detailed daily/weekly quality logs, inspection reports, photo documentation, punch-list items and non-conformance reports to support project records and closeout documentation.
</li><li>Assist in reviewing project-specific quality plans, checklists, and procedures in coordination with the Project Manager.
</li><li>Participate in pre-activity meetings, progress meetings, and coordination with design teams, owners, or regulatory inspectors regarding quality/schedule matters as agreed/delegated by the Project Manager.
</li><li>Assist in reviewing project-specific schedule, timeline variance, risks, and overall performance against schedule.
</li><li>Review schedule to track project readiness, project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
</li><li>Work with the Project Manager and the NTT Scheduling team to review start/finish reports and update teams on predictable turnover performance.
</li><li>Coordinate on-site needs and asks with the Procurement/Sourcing group(s) to support the needs of the Project, in collaboration with the Senior PM.
</li><li>Provide onsite technical Construction SME support, ROJ dates, visual inspection and/or observation for construction quality control of OFCI and CFCI equipment and Supply chain management.
</li><li>Review and provide feedback on Cx scripts, technical deliverables, test procedures and checklists. Review of the commissioning agent&rsquo;s Level 4 and 5 commissioning scripts and provide feedback. Have a thorough understanding of the scripts and ensure Cx agent is following their program.
</li><li>Assist with coordination, logistics, and support for Level 4 CxA Functional Performance Testing and Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing activities.
</li><li>Monitor material storage, handling, and protection practices on site to prevent damage or degradation.
</li><li>Support project closeout by verifying as-built conditions, compiling quality documentation, and assisting with punch list resolution.
</li><li>Partner with the General Contractor, Vendors, and Internal Cross Functional Partners to build a culture of collaboration.
</li><li>Promote a culture of quality and safety through coaching field teams and reinforcing adherence to standards.
</li><li>Promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications.
</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
<ul><li>Understanding of Project Management, Planning, Construction Management, and Data Centers.
</li><li>Demonstrated leadership ability in dealing with Owners, Architects, Contractors, and internal stakeholders.
</li><li>Fundamental knowledge of P6 Critical path scheduling systems
</li><li>Familiarity of all aspects of Development design and Construction- to include site work, core, and shell, mechanical and electrical, utilities, finishes, etc.
</li><li>Must be very organized, analytical, and structured with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
</li><li>Technical knowledge of critical facilities, civil/structural, building envelopes , BMS, mechanical systems and electrical distribution systems.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

<div>South Loop Loft is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to partner directly with the Founder in executing a new flagship showroom and our operational hub.

This is a high-responsibility, gig-based role for someone who can operate as both a design partner and execution lead&mdash;translating a strong creative vision into a fully realized space.

Ownership will lead the overall vision and direction. You will be the person who brings it to life&mdash;through spatial refinement, material sourcing, vendor coordination, and hands-on execution.

Location: South Loop Loft &mdash; Chicago 
Engagement: Immediate Start through December 2026

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will work side-by-side with the Founder (design visionary) to refine and execute an already-developed design concept. The Founder has compiled a thorough design deck reflecting the major components, storytelling, and materials of interest.

The space includes:

<li>A client-facing retail showroom
</li>
<li>A back-of-house warehouse and inventory operation
</li>
<li>Existing workshops for furniture restoration
</li>
</ul>This role will also support the company through its transition into the new space&mdash;helping to coordinate the move, install the showroom, and prepare for the Grand Opening.

This is not a role focused solely on drawings. It requires someone who can operate fluidly between design, logistics, sourcing, and execution.

This role requires someone who is comfortable operating without a full support team. You will be responsible for both high-level design thinking and detailed execution, including procurement, coordination, and problem-solving across all phases of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Partner with ownership to refine the floor plan and spatial layout in real time (SketchUp required)
</li>
<li>Translate the Founder&rsquo;s design vision into clear, buildable decisions across all phases of the project. The Founder has a detailed design deck already prepared.

<li>Develop clear visual and technical documentation (drawings, models, references) to align design intent with execution across teams
</li>
<li>Lead material sourcing and procurement, from architectural finishes to final details
</li>
<li>Fully own procurement, including ordering, tracking, follow-up, and vendor coordination to ensure timely delivery
</li>
<li>Source and coordinate everything from specialty materials and custom elements to functional items (e.g., outlet covers, hardware, espresso machine, etc.)
</li>
<li>Identify, vet, and manage relationships with artisans, fabricators, and vendors
</li>
<li>Partner with artisans to develop specialty wall finishes and unique installations that reflect the South Loop Loft brand and the family of artists we work with
</li>
<li>Oversee window treatments and soft goods, including coordination with drapery workrooms
</li>
<li>Manage all sampling, approvals, and finish selections

<li>Work closely with the GC and internal teams during active construction and installation

<li>Review drawings, shop drawings, and site conditions to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction

Responsibilities will include:

<li>Ensuring the final environment feels complete, intentional, and aligned with the South Loop Loft brand experience

</ul>You will have support from our Operations Manager on certain aspects of this phase and will continue to work most closely with the Founder and our trusted GC.
