The Office of Policy and Strategy (OPS) leverages its expertise to guide and support HPD and its many Offices in their efforts to deepen their impact, optimize their efficiency, and become more data-driven, compliance-attentive, climate-adaptive, and mission-focused. OPS&rsquo; Division of Research &amp; Evaluation (R&amp;E) conducts rigorous statistical analyses, large scale surveys, and evaluations of agency programming to support new knowledge and help refine practices related to the housing stock, population, and communities we serve. R&amp;E leverages resources within and across the traditional divides of government and academia to facilitate the collection of high-quality data and promote multi-disciplinary approaches to housing policy research. Its research produces methodologically sound findings to shape effective policy and programming and promote data-driven policymaking in New York City and beyond.<br>
R&amp;E recently launched the Center for Research on Housing Opportunity, Mobility, and Equity (HOME), which conducts independent analysis of policy-relevant topics related to these key topics. This research center includes partnerships with other academic and government researchers with the aim of creating sound, relevant research evidence on housing as both a source of disparities and a means for achieving greater equity for all New Yorkers.<br>

Your Role:<br>

The Data Coordinator will work closely with other R&amp;E staff on a continual and as-needed basis to compile and maintain datasets relevant to the team&rsquo;s work, included relating to the New York City Housing and Vacancy Survey (NYCHVS), a longitudinal survey of the NYC housing stock and population conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau under contract from HPD. The Data Coordinator will be responsible for managing current administrative and survey data assets as well as acquiring and ingesting new data to advance R&amp;E&rsquo;s mission.
<br>
The Data Coordinator will be required to undergo a background check with the U.S. Census Bureau to acquire Special Sworn Status in order to work with protected Title 13 data in the NYCHVS Survey Sponsor Data Center (SSDC). The Data Coordinator will be responsible for working with confidential and sensitive data and must adhere to strict data privacy procedures, including working with other team members to reduce the risk of re-identification and disclosure.<br>

This role will both manage and directly perform infrastructure and IT Equipment installations, moves, changes, decommission, repair and incident response for our clients.</p><p></p><p>
The Data Center Site Manager will be the primary contact and is accountable for all data center services provided by Data Center Operations for the New York and New Jersey locations. This role will either manage, directly perform or act as the liaison to the appropriate teams to deliver all Data Center Operations Services; vendor management, mechanical, electrical, plumping (MEP) and fire-life-safety (FLS), physical security, Infrastructure Moves, Adds and Changes (IMAC), logistics (shipping, receiving &amp; storage), eWaste, media destruction and data center design consultation. <div><p>The Singh lab (tjsinghlab.com) is looking for a motivated postbaccalaureate computational research associate to contribute to method development and analysis in statistical genetics. The candidate will apply statistical methods to analyze genetic and phenotypic data from clinical collections and population biobanks that include tens to hundreds of thousands of individuals. The candidate will use the depth and diversity of these multimodal datasets to characterize the effects of genetic risk factors for psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. Specifically, they will analyze common, rare, and structural variants from whole-genome sequence data and detailed phenotypic (questionnaire, clinical, and imaging) data using novel and scalable methods in statistical genetics and machine learning to understand the pathogenesis of brain disorders. We hope to use these insights to identify genes associated with increased risk of particular symptom clusters and pinpoint pathways and processes associated with disease biology. The position is intended for two years, with the opportunity for renewal and promotion.</p>

We are an interdisciplinary and collaborative team at the New York Genome Center (NYGC), with primary affiliations at the Columbia University&rsquo;s (CU) Department of Psychiatry and the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) and a secondary affiliation at Columbia University&rsquo;s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. The position offers a unique opportunity to participate in a multi-institute research environment in New York City, with collaboration opportunities. Your work will support the building and strengthening the neuropsychiatric genetics program at the NYGC and CU Psychiatry. You are encouraged to learn from and engage with other researchers in lecture series, grand rounds, and academic events at these centers and institutes, which include work in statistical genetics, functional genomics, basic neuroscience, and clinical translation.
