Sourcing Journal is hiring a Business Reporter to focus heavily on daily news and analysis, in addition to occasional researched feature reporting. The ideal candidate will have a very solid grasp of journalism fundamentals, an ability to uncover, pitch and track compelling news stories, strong writing skills and a keen eye for detail. Must be a self-starter who is adaptable, versatile and agile. Must be extremely fluent in all aspects of digital media and have the ability to quickly learn, incorporate new skills and adapt to constructive feedback. Working with a range of other reporters, the candidate is expected to produce a reasonable volume of daily stories under deadline pressure. Industry knowledge of sourcing, apparel, footwear, sustainability, tech, retail or fashion is a plus. Position requires some travel and event coverage when necessary.

Requirements:

<li>Experience writing and editing for digital media publications. B2B background strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Ability to work quickly and cleanly, and report breaking news efficiently and accurately.</li>
<li>Full grasp of online publishing from story creation, to sourcing art and publication.
</li><li>Proficiency in WordPress including gallery creation when appropriate.</li>
</ul>

A good faith estimate of the salary range is $66,500 - $70,000 upon hire. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The annualized base salary for this role will range between $60,000 and $93,750. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience.
