 The Role
 
 
 
 We&rsquo;re looking for a Supervising Producer to lead media production across the Countdown team.
 
 
 This is a senior creative and operational role for a producer with great storytelling skills who can
 
 
 navigate the full landscape of modern digital media &mdash; from short-form video to long-form
 
 
 documentary to audio. You&rsquo;ll be the connective tissue between our internal team and the
 
 
 external producers, filmmakers, and creators we work with, ensuring everything we make is
 
 
 sharp, purposeful, and built for the moment.
 
 
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Do
 
 
 
 You&rsquo;ll serve as the main point of contact for all media production across the Countdown team,
 
 
 coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners to keep projects on track and on
 
 
 vision. You&rsquo;ll lead creative development for films, videos, off-stage content, and audio &mdash; from
 
 
 the earliest concept stage through final delivery. You&rsquo;ll hire and manage third-party producers
 
 
 and production companies, owning those relationships end to end. You&rsquo;ll also manage creator-
 
 
 led media partnerships for Countdown, supporting collaborations with individual creators and

 What We&rsquo;re Looking For
 
 
 
 You&rsquo;re an experienced producer, video journalist or non-fiction filmmaker with a strong editorial
 
 
 eye and a track record of telling complex stories clearly and compellingly. You understand how
 
 
 content travels across platforms &mdash; YouTube, Instagram, podcast feeds, editorial sites &mdash; and
 
 
 you know how to shape a story for each. You have enough fluency with climate and

We're seeking a highly collaborative leader who can work with global colleagues to lead the Guardian's 24-7 video news operation during the US time zone, work with US desk heads and reporters to amplify the impact of our text journalism in video formats, develop reporters and newsroom talent for video and commission original video stories. They will also partner with the social and podcast team on video output.
Strong management skills and a deep understanding of the Guardian's editorial standards, values and journalistic approach are essential. Knowledge of the creator landscape and familiarity with strategies for video monetization are key. This role requires a leader with the vision to build a department over time and a hands-on maker who can jump in and support a small team with daily execution.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Final responsibility for all US video content, including shortform and social, breaking news and explainers, new shows, features and documentaries</li><li>
Ensure U.S. video output aligns with the Guardian's global video strategy and standards, work closely with global video and multimedia leaders to develop a cohesive global product</li><li>
