JOB SUMMARY
The Communication and Partnership (C&amp;P) Director is a senior member of the FP2030 Executive Team based at the UN Foundation (UNF). FP2030 is in the process of finalizing a new strategy and the C&amp;P Director will lead in shaping and executing the communications strategy for the globally connected and country driven partnership and will oversee the quality of internal and external communications. He/she reports to FP2030&rsquo;s Executive Director and will work very closely with the Chief Operating Officer and key leaders and managers across the country and program portfolios. The Director will serve as a shared resource for internal and external partners, as well as within the Global Communications and Engagement team at UNF.

The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional with a proven track record of building and executing successful, global and country communications strategies and campaigns to drive growth and increase community engagement to accelerate impact. The candidate will also oversee the communications aspects of FP2030&rsquo;s: &ldquo;Made Possible by Family Planning&rdquo; to raise more funding, spark new leadership and voices, and ignite new momentum to ensure rights-based family planning for all people everywhere.

The Communication and Partnership Director will work closely with the Executive Director and the leadership team to elevate our new strategy and advance strategic priorities, expand the reach of our brand and positioning, strengthen message alignment and support fundraising. The Director will develop a top-notch communication strategy and strategic positioning for FP2030 at the upcoming events ensuring strategic positioning and clarity of messages. FP2030 is also updating our website, and this position will oversee the critical changes needed for future fit and ensure a quality website that reflects FP2030 principles and values of diversity, equity, and inclusion and is user friendly to share resources, tools and information in multiple languages across the globe.

This position is full-time, one-year term, benefits eligible, with possibility of extension. This role can be based in Washington, D.C. (hybrid schedule) or in the UK, remote.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Provide strategic counsel to FP2030 leadership on messaging and external positioning, including the executive director, COO, portfolio and program directors, and UNF Communication team</li>
<li>Shape and influence FP2030&rsquo;s strategic narrative with senior country leadership, including ministers and government stakeholders, while positioning the organization as a trusted and authoritative voice among key global partners, multilateral institutions, and major funders (e.g., World Bank/GFF, UNFPA, RHSC)</li>
<li>Oversee development of an integrated communications strategy and an annual work plan that positions FP2030 to achieve the partnership&rsquo;s strategic priorities</li>
<li>Oversee FP2030&rsquo;s brand, organizational voice, and visual identity. Define organization-wide messaging, develop tailored narratives for specific audiences, and provide guidance and oversight to ensure alignment and consistency with FP2030&rsquo;s core messaging across a range of outward-facing materials. Work collaboratively with other team leads, as well as regional communications officers, to develop language and messaging that connects FP2030&rsquo;s core messaging with team specific needs</li>
<li>Lead communications and thought leadership strategy that elevates FP2030&rsquo;s brand, increases its reach, and further establishes expertise and credibility</li>
<li>Oversee the changes to FP2030&rsquo;s website to ensure future fit to meet the needs of a country led, regionally managed and globally connected partnership</li>
<li>Manage communications team members, budget, vendors, and a large and wide-ranging project portfolio</li>
<li>Represent FP2030 at meetings, conferences, and events focused on family planning issues as needed and oversee FP2030&rsquo;s visibility through high impact events and leadership visibility</li>
<li>Provides creative direction and oversee production and launch of FP2030&rsquo;s signature publication, the annual progress report, a compelling report on the progress of contraceptive use, the success of commitments as well as the impact of FP2030&rsquo;s partnerships</li>

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Advisor for Communications, Marketing, and Education (Senior Advisor), the Director of Creative and Digital Communications holds day-to-day ownership of NFHA&rsquo;s creative output and digital communications ecosystem. This is not a campaign coordination role. The Director will serve as a key member of the Communications/Marketing Division, responsible for translating NFHA&rsquo;s organizational strategy into compelling stories, campaigns, and public-facing communications that advance the mission across platforms.
The Director will own the creative and digital execution layer of NFHA&rsquo;s public-facing communications&mdash; including brand identity, multi-platform content strategy, and digital infrastructure such as the website and social channels. The Senior Advisor provides strategic direction, divisional priorities, and executive oversight, and works closely and directly alongside the Director across all major initiatives. Work Schedule

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with a strong background in journalism or communications, preferably both. The best candidates will understand how to translate complex issues into punchy, accessible pitches, and prioritize reaching audiences that the marquee press does not.

The best candidate believes that the best journalism is motivated by a demand for justice, and that excellent human rights research is its natural ally, while developing and participating in creative new ways to get the message out. The best candidate sees opportunities in unlikely places, and cares as much about convincing a columnist in a state capital, a talk radio host, and an editor at the New York Times.

The best candidate will be comfortable with both carefully planned long-term projects, and real-time responses to developing news, in an environment which demands both rigor and relevance.
