Northeastern Peer Tutoring provides free, peer-to-peer academic support for undergraduate students, connecting them with highly qualified Northeastern peers who have excelled in the courses they tutor. The program offers one-on-one and small-group tutoring, delivered in person and online through an external tutoring platform, across a range of supported courses each semester. Peer tutoring is designed to promote academic success, strengthen student confidence, and support learning through collaborative, student-centered engagement. Tutors participate in structured training and professional development aligned with College Reading &amp; Learning Association (CRLA) standards at all three levels. The program also partners with faculty and campus stakeholders to ensure tutoring services are visible, accessible, and aligned with broader academic support efforts.
Position: Director of Peer Tutoring
The Director of Peer Tutoring provides strategic leadership for peer tutoring as a core component of Northeastern&rsquo;s academic support and student success ecosystem. The role is responsible for advancing a cohesive, high-quality, and equitable peer tutoring model that supports student learning, confidence, and persistence across programs and disciplines. The Director brings a forward-looking perspective to the work, staying attuned to emerging pedagogical practices and learning assistance models while championing peer-to-peer learning as a high-impact educational practice.
The Director oversees the full scope of peer tutoring services, including in-person and online delivery, and ensures alignment between tutoring practices, curricular needs, and institutional learning outcomes. The role serves as a connector across academic departments and student support units, helping integrate peer tutoring into the broader learning environment while maintaining consistent standards, effective operations, and a strong student experience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy

826 Boston offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. The salary for this position is $40,900 for 40 hours per week.

The Writers&rsquo; Room Program Assistant will work 40 hours a week. Regular in-person hours are required. Applicants must be residing in Massachusetts and able to commute to the in-person location listed below, before the role starts.

<li>In-Person Location: John D. O&rsquo;Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, 55 Malcolm X Blvd, Roxbury, MA 02120</li>
<li>Remote Hours: Most Fridays. There are required all-team meetings, professional development, and tasks to complete on virtual Fridays.
<ul><li>Occasional departmental and organizational meetings will take place on Fridays at our Tutoring Center located at 3035 Washington Street, Roxbury, MA 02119.</li></ul></li></ul> 
 
Programmatic Support
<ul>
<li>Serve as a tutor to students in grades 7-12 seeking writing support for class visits across all content areas (humanities and STEM); example assignments and publications include short-form text-based writing assignments, research papers, and college essays</li>
<li>Support students&rsquo; writing development through one-on-one conferences, small-group collaboration, whole-class instruction, and humanities clubs and workshops</li>
<li>Develop and lead 826 Boston-created programming, which can include stand-alone workshops, creative writing clubs, and publication projects. Example programming includes our school-wide literary magazine and student newspaper</li>
<li>Assist with Writers&rsquo; Room volunteer coordination, including managing email communication and tracking attendance; leading pre-brief and debrief conversations; and planning and administering microtrainings</li>
<li>Support students in developing social-emotional learning skills and processing life experiences through writing and other mediums</li>
<li>Create and update wall programming including advocacy boards, writing contests, and student-facing opportunities</li>
<li>Develop a bimonthly newsletter that summarizes the program&rsquo;s notable highlights and 826 Boston events</li>
<li>Assist with data collection, analysis, and results-sharing associated with the Writers&rsquo; Room, including tracking student visits and hours across different platforms, administering an annual writing assessment, distributing student and teacher feedback surveys, and participating in biannual team-wide reports</li>
<li>Support publishing project design cycle, from giving feedback to student authors and copy editing the manuscript to designing the publication and planning the book release party</li>
<li>Co-lead Student Editorial Boards for each publication project, ensuring students have the opportunity to inform book content, cover and interior design, and title selection</li>
<li>Communicate project progress to staff supervisor and seek counsel when help is needed to execute goals</li></ul> 


Additional Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assist the Writers&rsquo; Room Manager with administrative tasks, the upkeep and beautification of the Writers' Room, and partner meetings or school-based professional development, as needed</li>
<li>Support additional responsibilities during short-term Writers&rsquo; Room Manager absences by facilitating team meetings, tutor debriefs, and class mini-lessons</li>
<li>Provide support at select outreach and fundraising events, including nights and weekends on rare occasions</li>
<li>Support organization-wide summer programming</li></ul>

Salary and Benefits 
826 Boston offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. The salary for this position is $40,900 for 40 hours per week.

<div>POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director (future Community Health and Wellness Director), the Case Manager partners with clients and the community to improve the wellness and health outcomes for Native Americans that are in our service area. The Case Manager will perform case management activities focused on linking clients to behavioral health care, psychosocial supports, and appropriate community resources. The Case Manager will routinely perform client intakes, service planning, safety planning, data collection, and documentation in our Electronic Health Records system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
