BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Video Editor is a critical role on a small, senior team at Magnificent Noise. This is a part-time position (15&ndash;20 hours per week) with flexible work hours and a hybrid structure&mdash;primarily remote, with occasional on-site work as projects require.
The Video Editor will be the primary editor shaping video expressions of our audio-led projects, ensuring that all visual work meets our editorial ambitions and aesthetic standards.
The role requires not only strong technical editing skills, but a creative and inclusive approach to storytelling. The ideal candidate understands how to translate long-form audio conversations into compelling visual narratives and has a proven track record of producing high-quality work under deadline in a collaborative environment.
This is not a high-volume social media production role. It is a craft role for someone who values judgment, pacing, and intention.

LOCATION
Our preference for this position is for someone from the greater New York area working in our Manhattan office 1 or 2 days a week, but will consider a fully-remote employee with exceptional skill.

 The Senior Editor of SuperSTEM will be an integral part of the magazine&rsquo;s editorial team.  About The Role
 
 
 
 TED Audio Collective continues to expand into video podcasts, and we're looking for a skilled video editor to help bring our shows to life visually. You'll work across multiple podcast properties&mdash;including shows hosted by some of the world's most compelling thinkers&mdash;editing full episodes, companion pieces, social clips, and promotional content for YouTube and social platforms.
 
 
 This role sits at the intersection of audio storytelling and visual media, requiring someone who understands pacing, narrative, and how to make conversations visually engaging without losing the intimacy that makes podcasts work.
 
 
 
 What You'll Do
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Edit full-length video podcast episodes for YouTube, ensuring visual polish while preserving authentic, conversational energy
 </li>
 <li>
 Create short-form clips and companion series, optimized for YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with TED Audio team to establish and maintain visual identity across shows
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with producers and hosts to record high quality video/audio
 </li>
 <li>
 Build and implement graphics packages, lower thirds, and other visual elements
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage color correction, audio sync, and quality control across deliverables
 </li>
 <li>
 Help develop templates and workflows that can scale across the TED Audio Collective portfolio
 </li>

 Stay current on platform trends and best practices for video podcast content

 What You Bring

 3+ years of video editing experience, ideally including podcast or interview-based content
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience editing for YouTube and social platforms, with understanding of what performs and the differences between platforms
 </li>
 <li>
 Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects skills a strong plus
 </li>
 <li>
 Sharp eye for pacing and an eye for what makes a moment clip-worthy
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work independently while maintaining brand consistency across projects
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple projects simultaneously
 </li>
 <li>
 Genuine interest in ideas, learning, and the topics TED covers
