Opportunities &amp; Responsibilities 
<ul>
<li>
Relationship Building &amp; Networking: Work closely with NCJW leaders, advocates, and partners nationwide. Help cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and assist in maintaining our growing network of supporters and volunteers. This role will provide you with excellent exposure to high-level organizational operations and leadership.</li>
<li>Communications Support: Assist in writing and disseminating newsletters, weekly updates, and other field communications, as well as donor acknowledgement letters.</li>
<li>Donor Research and Tracking: Conduct prospect research on current and potential donors and draft reports on those findings. Tracking contacts with our network in EveryAction, NCJW&rsquo;s CRM.</li>
<li>Administrative and Operational Support: Provide essential administrative support for the department and day-to-day operations, such as: preparing materials, coordinating meetings, and entering data into our CRM EveryAction. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how a nonprofit organization functions behind the scenes.</li>
<li>Professional Development: Participate in regular training sessions, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative projects designed to enhance your leadership, advocacy, and communication skills. You&rsquo;ll work alongside experienced professionals in the nonprofit sector, gaining invaluable insights and connections to help further your career.</li>
<li>Capitol Hill Visit: Plan and execute a lobby day by meeting with congressional staff and/or your members of Congress to discuss NCJW priority issues.</li></ul> 
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Strong writing and communication skills, ability to learn quickly, and a commitment to social justice issues.</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel, and/or Google Sheets is preferred.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills, with an interest in building and maintaining positive relationships with leaders across our network.</li>
<li>No previous professional experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and get involved.</li>
<li>Two years of higher education or commensurate experience is strongly preferred.</li></ul>

 Each semester, we hire 50+interns who learn about the foundations of American political thought from The Boyce-Haller First Principles Lecture Series, weekly briefings with Heritage policy experts on foreign, economic, and domestic policy issues, and practical skills workshops on topics such as resume and cover letter writing, Capitol Hill, and op-ed writing.
 
 
 
 
 
 Interns work day-to-day alongside Heritage staff in one of several Heritage departments. Individual department placements include foreign policy, economic, and domestic policy research, law and constitutional studies, communications, journalism, government relations, outreach, event planning, and business operations.
 
 
 
 
 
 Fall interns may work full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (a minimum of 20 hours per week) hours during the fall semester. Standard hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. &ndash; 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
