You will ideate with multiple teams and develop features about Amazon's work across AI, innovation, sustainability, customer experience, and other priority topics. Your understanding of data-driven digital journalism and distribution strategy will be crucial in ensuring these stories reach and engage audiences. 
 
This is an individual contributor role that sits within Amazon's Communications &amp; Corporate Responsibility org. You will be expected to work cross-functionally across the Amazon News team and the wider communications org. You will partner with communications stakeholders to understand specific objectives, audiences, and messaging requirements for each feature, using these insights to develop effective content and distribution strategies that maximize story reach.

Key job responsibilities 
Reporting and content creation: Report, write, and edit feature stories that require deep access to Amazon facilities, employees, and technical experts. Conduct interviews, gather on-the-ground details, and collaborate with our design and photo leads to create visually compelling stories that educate audiences on complex topics. 
 
Partnership: Serve as a content partner to communications teams, providing guidance throughout feature development from planning to execution and analysis. Build and maintain productive relationships that enable early access to subjects, streamlined approvals, and successful content delivery. 
 
Strategy: Work with our team's editor in chief and senior editor to implement the Amazon News feature strategy. Identify compelling story opportunities that ladder up to priority reputational narratives, using audience data, SEO insights, and editorial judgment. 
 
Distribution planning: Develop and execute comprehensive distribution strategies for each feature to maximize reach and impact. Collaborate with channel owners, executive communications, and social media teams to secure distribution commitments early in the production process. 
 
Analytics and performance: Use engagement data&mdash;time on page, recirculation rates, and other metrics&mdash;to evaluate feature performance and make data-informed adjustments.

The New York Post is seeking an Editor, Sunday Opinion and Books (Internal Title: PostScript Editor) to oversee editing of the Sunday opinion and ideas section and be at the forefront of shaping books-related content for both the New York Post and California Post. In this role, it is essential that you are familiar with the point-of-view, philosophy and principles for which The New York Post&rsquo;s editorial pages stand.
This is not a traditional editorial-page job, nor is it strictly focused on politics and policy. Ideally, you are a news omnivore who follows global affairs, science and tech news, national and local politics, societal trends and pop culture &mdash; and have writer contacts that reflect that. You also love books, have experience covering them, and understand the broad needs of the newsroom.
This role requires a self-motivator with high-level organizational skills and a strict dedication to deadlines. You must be able to plan in advance &mdash; but also pivot and produce quickly as news happens.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Assume editorial responsibility for the Sunday opinion and ideas section, ensuring that all content is well-crafted and aligned with the publication's editorial standards</li><li>
Collaborate with writers, columnists and contributors to refine and enhance their pieces, providing editorial guidance and feedback</li><li>
Identify the big stories of the week and come up with creative &ldquo;zags&rdquo; that react to the news cycle</li><li>
Evaluate column submissions and keep up with replies</li><li>
Bring in a broad network of freelance writers, including opinion columnists and high-level features writers, and a passion to find the right writer for any topic</li><li>
Stay abreast of developments and schedules in the publishing industry, identifying noteworthy releases across genres</li><li>
Cultivate relationships with book publishers and literary agents to secure advance copies of important releases</li><li>
Work closely with the photo and design teams to conceptualize engaging print layouts and digital graphics, including maps and other charts</li><li>
Coordinate the seamless web posting of columns and articles</li><li>
Write sharp, SEO-friendly headlines and story leads</li></ul>
Requirements:<ul><li>
7+ years of experience editing opinion pieces, columns, and long-form content within a newsroom environment</li><li>
Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or a related field preferred</li><li>
Proven experience in editorial roles, particularly editing both columnists and long-form, multi-source features</li><li>
Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills</li><li>
Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines</li><li>
An ardent passion for books and a keen understanding of the publishing landscape</li><li>
A sharp eye for narrative, logic, and tone &mdash; especially attuned to the Post&rsquo;s unique voice</li><li>
Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, high-paced newsroom environment</li><li>
 WordPress experience is a plus</li></ul>
Note: The New York Post adheres to an on-site work model. This role will be expected to report into the office 5 days per week. The shift schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm or 10am-6pm EST.

Base Pay Range: 125,000 - 140,000
