Position Summary
The Kinder Institute for Urban Research is currently hiring an Associate Director of Demography to join its Houston Population Research Center (HPRC). The HPRC houses the Kinder Institute&rsquo;s demography and survey work, which includes the Greater Houston Community Panel , and the Kinder Houston Area Survey &ndash; the longest-running survey of any major metropolitan area in the nation. Individuals with experience and expertise in designing and programming surveys, cleaning and curating survey data, and developing and conducting survey research projects are encouraged to apply.
The Associate Director will collaborate with the Center Director to lead and work alongside a team of researchers in conducting rigorous, relevant, and innovative research that benefits the Houston area and its residents. To that end, the Associate Director must be comfortable and competent in collaborating with community partners, including nonprofit organizations, government entities, and other local leaders, as well as with residents living in and around the Houston area (and beyond).
The Associate Director will help identify and apply for grant funding opportunities and work toward producing research that is widely accessible, impactful, and used to improve lives. The Associate Director will also help elevate the HPRC&rsquo;s work through professional conferences and academic, peer-reviewed publications. The Kinder Institute for Urban Research aims to improve lives through data, research, engagement, and action. PSM Program Administrator

<div>The Time and Attendance Administrator supports the day-to-day administration of the organization&rsquo;s timecard and time and attendance system to help ensure accurate, timely, and policy-compliant time entry and approvals. This role provides user support, assists with issue resolution, maintains system data and configuration, and coordinates with Payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, and Operations. The Time and Attendance Administrator also supports reporting, training, and process consistency across the organization.
What You Will Do:
<ul><li>Support the day-to-day administration of the organization&rsquo;s timecard and time and attendance system.
</li><li>Maintain system data and configuration elements, including hour types, labor categories, projects/cost centers, approval workflows, calendars, and user access, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
</li><li>Review time entry and approval activity to help monitor compliance with deadlines, internal controls, and established timekeeping requirements.
</li><li>Serve as a point of contact for employees and approvers regarding timecard entry, corrections, exceptions, and workflow status.
</li><li>Troubleshoot routine timecard issues and coordinate escalation of more complex system or integration issues, as needed.
</li><li>Run validation checks and exception reports, follow up on discrepancies, and assist in ensuring corrections are completed before payroll and billing deadlines.
</li><li>Process or support retroactive adjustments and maintain related documentation in accordance with policy.
</li><li>Assist in developing user guides, training materials, and communications related to system use, key dates, and policy reminders.
</li><li>Support recurring and ad-hoc reporting needs for Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and operational stakeholders.
</li><li>Assist with system updates, testing activities, and process improvements under the guidance of the Time and Attendance Manager.
</li></ul>What You Will Need:
Education &amp; Experience
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
</li><li>Relevant experience supporting timecard, time and attendance, payroll, HRIS, or workforce management processes.
</li><li>Experience providing user support, resolving routine system issues, and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
</li><li>Experience with data entry, reporting, reconciliation, or administrative support in a systems-based environment.
</li><li>Experience assisting with training materials, user documentation, or process communications is preferred.
</li><li>Experience supporting payroll and/or billing cycles is preferred.
</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities
<ul><li>Knowledge of timekeeping, time and attendance, or workforce administration processes.
</li><li>Ability to follow and apply organizational policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
</li><li>Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and support timely resolution.
</li><li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills.
</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
</li><li>Proficiency in reporting, validation, and exception tracking related to timecard administration.
</li><li>Strong commitment to ethical business practices per relevant corporate policies.
</li><li>Ability to learn and apply the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
</li></ul>Reporting Relationships:
This role will report to the Time and Attendance Manager and will work closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Operations, and Project Accounting. This role does not typically have direct reports and serves as an administrative and operational support resource for employees, approvers, and internal stakeholders.</div>
