Position Overview
Reporting to the Help Desk Manager, the Service Desk Technician will provide first level troubleshooting support for a variety of computing support issues while ensuring the highest-level customer service. Duties &amp; Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology and the Desktop Support Manager, the Technical Support Specialist will provide high-quality end-user support for the various constituents at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). User groups include Administrative and Academic Staff, Students, and Faculty. End-user devices include desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile phones. Users are located in 12 buildings on the Manhattan campus and at home.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Responsible for quality end-user support and proactive maintenance of administrative desktop hardware, software, and peripherals &ndash; this includes assets owned and managed by the college.</li><li>
Responsible for the updating and maintenance of the administrative desktop asset database, including data entry, tracking warranty and service contracts, and the registration of all hardware and software purchases.</li><li>
Assist with setting up, configuring, and deploying desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT equipment.</li><li>
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, system backups, and antivirus management.</li><li>

Become well-versed in and keep Visitor Services Assistants apprised of all current and upcoming exhibitions, audio tours, programs, events.</li><li>
Become well-versed in and train and supervise the Visitor Services Assistants on the Morgan&rsquo;s ticketing system.</li><li>
Respond to Box Office telephone calls and emails, process reservations, reconcile sales and manage cash handling and accounting processes.</li><li>
Answer telephone calls and emails to Group Sales lines, provide information and assistance for group reservations, prepare invoices and confirmations, and process group payments.</li><li>
Reconcile daily sales for the Admission Desk, oversee cash handling, replenish change, and manage accounting processes.</li><li>
Manage the Visitor Services Assistants&rsquo; monthly schedule.</li><li>
Fill-in for Visitor Services Manager or other Supervisor as needed.</li><li>
Monitor and replenish inventory of supplies and materials related to Admission Desk, and other areas as required.</li><li>
Monitor the appearance and condition of the Admission Desk, Information Desk, and Lobby areas and arranges for cleaning and/or maintenance as required.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Morgan&rsquo;s Security, Operations, and Public Programs Departments on a regular basis to ensure seamless operations across all front-facing spaces.</li><li>
Communicate any front-of-house resource needs as well as incidents and observations to Management</li><li>

Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree preferred</li><li>
Previous customer service and supervisory experience, especially in museum or attraction setting</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Computer literate (Microsoft word, POS system).</li><li>
Schedule is Tuesday to Saturday including Friday evenings. (Select holidays and other evenings occasionally required)</li><li>
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>
Problem solving skills.</li><li>
Moderate physical activity may require lifting and moving boxes of materials (10-15 pounds) and/or stanchions (25 pounds)</li></ul>
Compensation: $54,000&ndash;$56,000 annually, commensurate with experience; excellent benefits.
