<p>Position Summary</p>

The Instructional Support Assistant will execute administrative and logistical management to Academic Directors, faculty, and students at the School of Professional Studies. Under the supervision of the Instructional Support Supervisor, the Instructional Support Assistant will execute requests for scheduling, classroom resources, on-site support and other administrative services. The Instructional Support Assistant will also perform other relevant duties and participate in related projects as needed.</p>

<p>Responsibilities</p>

<li>Under the supervision of the Instructional Support Supervisor, the Instructional Support Assistant will work with specified SPS departments to handle ad hoc logistical requests; provide instructional support for block week classes, MS defenses, capstones, weekend course work, lectures, academically focused receptions, and residencies</li>
<li>Arranges classroom space for courses and re-scheduling with professors, as well as notifying students, when needed; provide logistical support for exams, print and deliver exam papers to exam locations; collaborate with curriculum and instruction team to arrange for class reserves packets (course reserves, library reserves)</li>
<li>Address faculty requests that are received through Zendesk; responsible for the analysis and reporting of Zendesk data; interface across departments and schools in Columbia University for space requests</li>
<li>Execute Zendesk tickets. Purchase materials/licenses for Academic Directors/Faculty. Send communications to students through Canvas for course related issues; provide administrative support to course-related activities that require special tech or space needs, execute term-based modification of course information and content</li>
<li>In collaboration with Academic Director, faculty, Alumni and Events Management, provide admin support for scheduling Academic events, (weekly, monthly etc.) speaker series, and student workshops; work with Academic Director/Director of Administration to organize speakers/faculty for events; reserve space, coordinate tech set up and any materials for a variety of events including (employer information sessions); order food for academic events; work with Academic Director&rsquo;s or event stakeholder to provide on-site support for Academic events</li>

Reporting to the Network Director of curriculum: Humanities, the <b>Associate Director of 6-12 ELA </b>is responsible for managing the development and implementation of DREAM&rsquo;s rigorous, vertically-aligned, culturally and historically responsive 6th-12th grade English Language Arts curriculum. This leader collaborates closely with school-based administrators to design and facilitate high-quality professional development, coach leaders and teachers around ELA content and pedagogy, ensure strong curriculum implementation, create assessments, and analyze data to drive continuous improvement. Curriculum, Assessment, and Data</b></p>

<li><p>Develop and design a rigorous, vertically-aligned 6-12 ELA curriculum that fosters the achievement of all students, takes a constructivist approach, is culturally and historically responsive, and develops students&rsquo; critical consciousness;</p>

<li><p>Create unit plans, assessments, lesson plans, and instructional materials for grades 6-12 ELA;</p>

<br>About the Role
<br>Concorde Education is seeking an engaging French Instructor to lead after-school language enrichment programs for students (grade band varies by assignment). This role focuses on building foundational French communication skills through interactive, student-centered instruction.
<br>Instructors lead small to mid-sized groups in a structured but fun environment, emphasizing speaking, listening, and cultural exploration. Programs are typically 10 weeks, with flexibility to adapt pacing based on student needs and site logistics.
<br>What You’ll Teach
<br>Students will develop introductory French language skills and cultural awareness through hands-on, participation-driven lessons.
<br><br>
<b>Topics may include:</b><br>
<ul>
<li>Greetings, introductions, and everyday conversational phrases</li>
<li>Numbers, dates, and time</li>
<li>High-frequency vocabulary (school, family, hobbies, food)</li>
<li>Basic sentence structure and common verbs</li>
<li>Listening and speaking through games, role-play, and guided dialogue</li>
<li>Introductory reading and writing (as appropriate)</li>
<li>French and Francophone culture (traditions, geography, music, food)</li>
</ul>
Key Responsibilities
<br>Lead engaging, structured after-school sessions aligned to program goals
<br><ul>
<li>Prioritize student participation, especially speaking and listening</li>
<li>Adapt instruction for different skill levels and group sizes</li>
<li>Maintain a safe, inclusive, and classroom-appropriate environment</li>
<li>Track attendance and communicate with program staff as needed</li>
<li>Deliver a culminating activity or project showcasing student learning</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<br>Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)Strong working proficiency in French

<li>Experience working with K–12 students (teaching, tutoring, camps, etc.)</li>
<li>Strong classroom presence and ability to engage students</li>
<li>Reliable, professional, and responsive</li>
<li>Able to create fun, age-appropriate learning experiences</li>

Academic Affairs Assistant</p>
<p>
The Academic Affairs Assistant positions will support various programs and departments within Academic Affairs. The role will offer general administrative support to the Academic departments and the libraries. The exact responsibilities will differ slightly based on the needs of the hiring department and will be communicated by the hiring manager during the interview process. This position will provide the student with a wonderful opportunity to learn about Mercy University and Higher Education in general, while honing skills that will serve them well once they graduate and start their professional journey.</p>
<p>
This role will require general office application skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook email), strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be a team player.</p><p><br>
These positions will vary between 12-15 hours a week, will pay $17 per hour, and will be in effect for the 2025-26 Academic Year.</p></div>
