The Senior Designer will design for fashion trend sportswear, while ensuring that each season&rsquo;s assortment reflects market trends, brand aesthetics, and sales objectives.</p><p>
As a key liaison with Sales, Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production, the Senior Designer will oversee the full product lifecycle&mdash;driving innovation, maintaining quality standards, and meeting deadlines&mdash;while mentoring and collaborating with other design team members.</p><p><b>
Responsibilities</b></p><p><i>
Design &amp; Product Development</i></p><ul><li>
Lead the design process for seasonal collections in sizes 4-20, ensuring alignment with brand vision and client requirements.</li><li>
Create compelling assortments based on style plans, sales needs, and emerging market trends.</li><li>
Produce detailed flat sketches, colorways, and technical packages with accurate construction and trim specifications.</li><li>
Oversee sample execution, including daily communication with overseas vendors to ensure on-time, high-quality deliveries.</li><li>
Inspect and approve samples, providing clear fit, construction, and quality feedback.</li><li>
Identify and interpret industry trends, competitive landscape insights, and innovation opportunities for the brand.</li><li>
Plan and present seasonal concept boards, fabric direction, and key silhouette ideas.</li><li>
Ensure all account-specific requirements are met from design through production.</li></ul><p><i>
Cross-Functional Collaboration</i></p><ul><li>
Partner with Merchandising, Sales, and Design Directors to ensure assortments meet concept direction, SKU plans, and styling needs.</li><li>
Work closely with Technical Design to guide fit corrections and ensure final product accuracy.</li><li>
Communicate product updates, corrections, and approvals to Production Coordinators and vendors.</li><li>
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver commercially viable, on-brand product lines.</li></ul><p><i>
Organization &amp; Leadership</i></p><ul><li>
Maintain organized sample, fabric, and trim libraries, as well as technical package archives.</li><li>
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers as needed.</li><li>
Foster a collaborative, fast-paced, and solutions-oriented work environment.</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Fashion Design or related field.</li><li>
7+ years of design and/or product development experience, with at least 5 years in children&rsquo;s apparel.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and embellishments.</li><li>
Proven ability to deliver commercially successful designs from concept to final product.</li><li>
Excellent trend awareness and the ability to translate fashion inspiration into brand-right product.</li><li>
Exceptional technical design skills, including creating tech packs, flats, and detailed construction comments.</li><li>
Strong merchandising sensibility and a commercial design eye.</li><li>
Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator; proficiency in Photoshop preferred.</li><li>
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.</li><li>
Experience presenting to executive leadership and clients.</li></ul><p><b>
