Food &amp; Water Watch is seeking a new communications professional to join our Media and Public Relations team to help implement creative, ambitious media relations plans that support our policy, research, legal and organizing initiatives to protect our food, water and climate.

About the position:
This position works closely with legal, policy, political, organizing and research staff to strategize, plan and implement communications tactics that forward priority organizational policies and campaigns, and elevate the identity and reputation of the organization &ndash; all relating our work to rapidly transition the country off fossil fuels and onto a truly clean, renewable energy future, and ensure safe and affordable food and water for all.
This position serves as the day-to-day media relations lead for a specific set of regional/state-based organizing campaigns and/or national policy programs and initiatives. This position is a union position covered under a contract between Food &amp; Water Watch and the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (NPEU).
This position will be the day-to-day media relations lead for our grassroots organizing work in New York State, New Jersey and other states as necessary. This position will also support our policy, research, legal and organizing work on national climate, energy, food and/or water issues.
Salary: $58,000 - $70,000

Responsibilities:
<div><ul><li>Write, edit, and/or support the development of media relations plans and tactics related to signature campaigns, aligned issues, and other organizational priorities (including, but not limited to, communications plans, media statements, press releases, research reports, speeches, talking points, opinion pieces, staff briefings, policy memos, web content, video/audio scripts, social media content, etc.).</li></ul>
<ul><li>In collaboration with FWW staff, proactively plan and implement national and regional media relations campaigns and tactics to support organizational initiatives and bolster FWW&rsquo;s reputation, (including legal work, organizing campaigns, policy initiatives, research products, etc.).</li></ul>
<ul><li>Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, producers and other media professionals, and place news, opinion and advertising in desired media targets, including print/radio/TV/web interviews for staff.</li></ul>
<ul><li>In collaboration with FWW staff, proactively plan and implement national, regional, state-based and/or local media relations campaigns and tactics to support organizational initiatives and bolster FWW&rsquo;s reputation (including legal work, organizing campaigns, policy initiatives, research products, etc.).</li></ul>
<ul><li>Help develop and implement communications trainings for FWW staff.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Track and catalogue media hits for FWW.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Carry out other projects, as assigned.</li></ul>

Required Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must have proven previous experience with media, public relations, journalism, or a related field. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative TikTok Coordinator to lead our brand&rsquo;s presence on one of the fastest-growing social media platforms. In this role, you will craft engaging video content, develop strategic campaigns, and analyze performance metrics to elevate our brand visibility and audience engagement. Your passion for digital marketing, creativity, and social media trends will drive our TikTok initiatives forward, helping us connect authentically with our target audience and boost our online influence.Duties<ul><li>Develop and execute creative TikTok content strategies aligned with brand goals, ensuring consistent voice and style across all videos.</li><li>Produce high-quality video content including filming, editing, and post-production using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.</li><li>Manage the day-to-day operations of the TikTok account, including scheduling posts via Buffer or Hootsuite for optimal engagement timing.</li><li>Conduct social listening to monitor trending topics, hashtags, and audience feedback to inform content creation and community interaction.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, PR, and graphic design to ensure cohesive branding across all digital channels.</li><li>Analyze performance metrics using Google Analytics and TikTok analytics tools to assess campaign effectiveness and refine strategies accordingly.</li><li>Engage actively with followers by responding to comments, messages, and fostering community relationships to enhance brand loyalty.</li><li>Stay up-to-date on TikTok trends, algorithm changes, and best practices in social media marketing to keep the brand ahead of the curve.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience in social media management with a focus on TikTok or short-form video content creation.</li><li>Strong skills in graphic design and video editing using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing software.</li><li>Knowledge of SEO principles, keyword research, and web analytics to optimize content reach.</li><li>Familiarity with social listening tools like Hootsuite or Buffer for trend tracking and audience insights.</li><li>Ability to craft compelling visual content that aligns with branding guidelines and marketing objectives.</li><li>Experience in public relations or relationship management to foster positive online interactions.</li><li>Excellent proofreading skills to ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and on-brand.</li><li>Understanding of social media marketing strategies across platforms such as Facebook Advertising for integrated campaigns.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
