Independently perform medical assistant procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, dermasweep, and phlebotomy.- Accurately complete all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents for patients as requested by physician.- Ensure proper charting in EMR and act as scribe for physician.- Return all patient phone calls regarding prescription refills/questions, procedure questions, product questions and triage appropriately.- Track and chart all patient blood results for physician review and reconcile appropriately.- Perform all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization.- Responsible for keeping track of product lines for inventory and notifies office manager of supplies needed to avoid shortages.- Perform other duties and tasks as needed for front desk reception including scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, initiating patient payment and demographic collection.We are a premier aesthetic dermatology practice dedicated to enhancing beauty and confidence through medical dermatology and cosmetic treatments. The MOHS Technician assists in the process of tissue removal and microscopic examination of skin cancer cells. Also, the MOHS Technician performs extensive administrative duties involving medical record keeping, developing laboratory protocols and following federal and state guidelines. She/he may assist the surgeon in all stages of surgery when needed. 
Responsibilities<ul><li>
The MOHS Technician is responsible for providing skilled surgical and medical support to the MOHS surgeon with the patients' care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality as primary concerns.</li><li>
Prepare patients' charts, forms, instruments, and other equipment as needed for surgery and patient care.</li><li>
Perform routine housekeeping duties and sterile technique. Keep rooms stocked with supplies and linens.</li><li>
Room patients, take detailed patient history, and have patient properly draped for the exam.</li><li>
Prepare set-up for surgical removal and assist surgeon.</li><li>

MOHS Technician - Dermatology

The Patient Coordinator I greets and establishes first contact with patients, or performs in a call center capacity. Confirms and updates patient demographics and verifies insurance as necessary to ensure that patients have appropriate insurance for physician they are seeing. 
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Greet patients either in person or via telephone, and update their insurance/demographics in the practice management system.</li><li>
Assure that physician accepts insurance that patients present with. If not already done prior to visit, verify insurance prior to patients arrival or at minimum at time of arrival before visit.</li><li>
Communicate with appropriate staff regarding patients arrival, and ensure that patients medical record is available for physician.</li><li>
Process/update HIPAA-related paperwork and other institutional forms as necessary.</li><li>
Collect or retrieve referrals or insurance authorizations as required.</li><li>
Review status of waiting room on a routine basis and ensure that patients are kept advised of wait times.</li><li>

The Chief Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the general operation of the laboratory. Directs and coordinates through subordinate supervisory personnel, all technical activities and functions within one of the major laboratory areas. 
The Chief Laboratory Supervisor is accountable and responsible for all administrative and technical functions in assigned area including report preparation, assisting in the budget process and representing assigned area at departmental meetings. In each specialized area, maintains in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles and instrumentation. 
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Evaluates, develops and implements new technical procedures for assigned laboratory to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of services.</li><li>
Develops and implements policies and procedures as necessary to maintain high level of functioning in assigned area.</li><li>
Maintains established technical and operational standards to ensure compliance with hospital standards and licensing and accrediting agencies. May interact with the various regulatory agencies as required.</li><li>
Develops, prepares and implements departmental budgets.</li><li>
Advises on purchase of equipment and supplies, and may negotiate prices with vendors.</li><li>
Supervises staff of first line supervisors, technologists and coordinator and may assume responsibility for the absence of appropriate supervisory staff.</li><li>
May provide justification for Purchase Orders for supplies.</li><li>
Responsible for scheduling supervisors.</li><li>
May be required to ensure effective, efficient and safe personnel coverage for 24-hour basis, by preparing an advance time schedule for all technical and clerical personnel.</li><li>
May be responsible for managing computer systems, including programming, workload capture, billing capture, interface conversion codes, and software validation.</li><li>
Responsible for all departmental statistics, and coordinates collection and preparation as required.</li><li>
Prepares and completes competence and performance appraisals of all staff. Maintains employee files.</li><li>
Reviews employee evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations.</li><li>
Provides effective recommendations on hiring, advancement, and termination of personnel.</li><li>
Reviews and approves departmental payroll activities.</li><li>
Develops and presents programs for continuing education.</li><li>
Performs various laboratory procedures as needed.</li><li>
Performs other related duties as required.</li></ul> 

Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related Sciences, Masters Preferred</li><li>
5 years minimum experience including supervisory experience, 10 preferred</li><li>
NYS License - Clinical Laboratory Technologist Issuing Agency: DOH/ Office of Professions</li><li>
Histotechnician/Histotechnologist certification strongly preferred</li></ul>
