Job Summary
The Firefighter / Driver-Operator (D/O) plays a critical role in emergency response operations, including fire suppression, medical aid, rescue, and hazardous materials incidents.  Deliver blood components to and return from designated locations.
 </li>

 Perform visual inspections and verify numbering/labeling/appearance of all units selected for delivery to ensure quality control standards are met.

 Place returned units on designated observation shelves, notifying supervisor or laboratory personnel of any abnormalities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform the Stoplight computer check on each consignment delivered to ensure the product is within acceptable date ranges and all products from that consignment are in the delivery.

 Properly complete all required paperwork documents for consignment and return of blood components to designated locations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with acceptability standards as set forth in the Vehicle Safety and Loss Control Policy, Standard Operating Procedures Manual and various other policies, procedures and protocol.

 Valid Texas Driver's License (TDL) plus acceptable driving record.
