Position Summary
This is a cataloging position focusing on music and audio resources. The Music Cataloging and Subject Specialist provides leadership in evaluation and application of current and emerging cataloging standards. Provides training or technical advice to library staff regarding resource description and metadata assignment. Advises patrons regarding audio recording equipment and metadata best practices. This position also manages the resource budget and provides support to the Shepherd School of Music (SSOM), one of the country&rsquo;s youngest and most prestigious university-level programs. Primary work location and reporting to the Fondren Library.
The ideal candidate for this role has demonstrable cataloging mastery pertaining to music and audio resources. They can describe nuances in these resources with nationally recognized vocabularies and standards. They are able to select and support the use of these resources by world-class musicians, faculty, and staff who likewise have specialized music expertise. The candidate should enjoy outreach and specialized reference activities in order to promote these library resources to professors, staff, and students.
Workplace Requirements
Following a six-month probationary period, this full-time position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. The role is expected to be on campus 80% of working hours, though additional remote work time may be arranged. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and the proposed salary range is $68,000 &ndash; 71,000 annually , depending on qualifications and experience. Exempt positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements

Shift: First Shift 
Under the direction of the General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs (GC DGA), the primary job duty of the Paralegal is to provide support to the Legal Division, and as requested, to forensic sections and business departments, in furtherance of their compliance with legal obligations. Primary support will be in assisting HFSC attorneys and the Public Information and Records Management Officer in complex administrative tasks related to legal research, writing, review, analysis, and compliance. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:<div>
Legal Division Support&bull; As directed by the GC DGA, assist legal department with tasks in support of legal projects and duties, including but not limited to, contract review and drafting, legal research, editing and drafting legal documents and presentations. 
<ul><li>Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, and legal articles to research and analyze legal topics.</li><li>Drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, memorandums, presentations and motions.</li><li>Assists attorneys with depositions, witness interviews, discovery, and investigations in preparation for court appearances and administrative hearings.</li><li>Serve as contracts administrator for the Contracts Lifecycle Management System (CLMS), screening requests, managing user accounts, tracking review turnaround times through monthly and annual reports, responding to, and fixing system errors or referring errors to designated technical support resources. Provide assistance to the HFSC Public Information Officer in fulfilling records requests subject to the Public Information Act, including, but not limited to redacting records, drafting letters to the Texas Attorney General, and researching previous Open Records letter rulings and decisions from the Texas Attorney General's Office.</li><li>As requested, assist with compilation and review of complex discovery and records requests.</li><li>Assist with the post-conviction review team and workflow, serving as the post-conviction monitor when requested, researching cases, and providing updates to the team as needed.</li><li>Process expunctions and ensure appropriate documents are filed with the court and/or submitted to the parties, including, but not limited to logging, researching, and drafting and filing signature pages and waivers.</li><li>Assist in processing requests for HFSC forensic services and drafting outsourcing agreements under the guidance of the GC DGA.</li><li>Assist with Board meeting materials including drafting action item summaries, conducting research for agenda items, and serving as Board Secretary in the absence of the appointed Board Secretary.</li><li>Provide significant assistance to the HFSC Records Management Officer in administrative tasks related to records management projects.</li><li>Perform tasks in support of HFSC's overall records management processes, including but not limited to records audits, tracking, filing, cataloging, scanning, inventorying, and other related tasks.</li><li>Provide support to the Government and Public Affairs team, including but not limited to preparing documents and compiling data for meetings with elected and appointed officials as well as stakeholder leadership teams.</li><li>Recommends innovative new processes that will benefit the division.</li><li>Serve as s notary public for the organization.</li></ul> 

Forensic Section Support 
 
&bull; As assigned or approved by the GC DGA, provide support and assistance to HFSC's seven (7) forensic sections, in furtherance of each section's compliance with legal obligations, including fulfilment of discovery request and subpoenas for records.&bull; Provide requested updates on court status and case disposition to sections to assist in resolution of pending records, subpoenas, and casework requests. &bull; Analyze and report subpoena tracking data, as requested.</div> 
Experience and Skills:MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in a related field is required. Paralegal certification is required, or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire from approved certification program. Failure to obtain certification will result in demotion, reassignment, or termination if no position exists for which the individual is qualified. 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS&bull; Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar industry is required. Similar industries include experience in a legal department or law office, government, forensic laboratory (records department), court, or a county or district clerk's office. Experience need not be as a paralegal.&bull; Experience in Harris County Criminal Justice System and/or a forensic laboratory environment is a plus.

Job Summary: 
We&rsquo;re looking for a data‑driven and audience-focused Content Specialist to join our SEO &amp; Content Marketing team. In this role, you will work closely with the SEO &amp; Content Marketing leader and cross‑functional partners. The Content Specialist is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing web content across multiple brands and site sections. This role focuses on daily content updates in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), ensuring accuracy, freshness, and alignment with SEO best practices. The ideal candidate brings strong writing expertise, editorial attention to detail, and experience managing digital content within a CMS. 
This position works closely with cross‑functional partners&mdash;including Creative, Web, Brand, and Analytics&mdash;to coordinate SEO‑focused content initiatives and support campaigns that drive customer engagement across Texas and East regional markets. 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Execute daily content updates in AEM including metadata, internal linking, on‑page copy edits and image attributes.</li><li>
Support comprehensive on‑page SEO optimization efforts to enhance visibility, engagement, and relevance.</li><li>
Refresh content across core site sections including customer content, product pages, comparison pages, community/CSR, partnerships &amp; sponsorships, localized content and blogs.</li><li>
Maintain content quality by conducting accuracy checks, proofreading, and ensuring compliance with brand and SEO guidelines.</li><li>
Partner with Content, Web, Creative, and Brand teams to support SEO-driven content projects through briefing, updates, and deployment.</li><li>
Track deliverables, monitor timelines, and escalate blockers to ensure on-time completion.</li><li>
Maintain documentation including content inventories, link mapping, and content governance frameworks.</li><li>
Collaborate with analytics and marketing teams to align content updates with insights and customer journey needs.</li><li>
Contribute to AI‑informed enhancements that support visibility and engagement improvements.</li><li>
Assist personalization stakeholders by ensuring AEM content, metadata and tagging are structured in ways that support personalization.</li><li>
Provide supporting updates to content components and documentation to help enable personalization developed by cross‑functional teams.</li><li>
Stay informed on SEO best practices, content experience trends, and platform updates.</li><li>
Provide support to the SEO &amp; Content team as business needs evolve.</li></ul> 
Working Conditions:<ul><li>
Hybrid 4 days/week in the Houston office</li><li>

Minimum Requirements:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Digital Media, or related field</li><li>
Strong writing background with 3 &ndash; 5 years of experience editing, proofreading, and maintaining brand consistency</li><li>
Comfortable working within a content management system; AEM experience preferred</li><li>
Understanding of SEO fundamentals and on‑page optimization</li></ul> 
Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>
Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms</li><li>
Exposure to enterprise websites or multi-brand content operations</li><li>
Experience coordinating cross-functional content projects</li><li>
Basic understanding of HTML or web publishing best practices</li></ul>
