Job Summary</b></p>
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care of the patient requiring anesthesia for surgical, medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic procedures. This care includes, but is not limited to, pre-operative assessments, anesthetic care plans, assembly and care of specialized equipment; application, insertion and interpretation of data from anesthetic monitors; airway management; delivery of general, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthetic care; induction, maintenance, and emergence of the patient; care of the patient in the immediate post-operative setting; and post-operative assessments in collaboration with a physician member of the Department of Anesthesiology. The MGB Cancer Institute is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Infusion Unit and ambulatory practices at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA. The Infusion Unit APP Specialist will work in a recently developed role embedded within our adult infusion unit to serve as an infusion unit first responder, promote infusion services access and efficiency, provide oncology urgent care/symptom management and provide generalist coverage within our ambulatory hematologic malignancies programs for anticipated leaves and absences.

Join a large and supportive ambulatory oncology and infusion service line Advanced Practice Team in a role that specializes in the care of patients with a variety of medical oncology diagnoses. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between providers, professional nurses, research personnel and administrative staff, to provide safe, quality care in compliance with clinical trial protocols across the care continuum.

<ul><li>While on the adult infusion unit, the APP oversees the care of patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders, serves as a first responder for acute reactions and medical emergencies, partners with primary disease center providers to care for complex oncology patients awaiting hospital admission and collaborates with the Cancer Institute weekend first responder team to provide access for urgent evaluation and symptom management during off-hours.
</li><li>The NP/PA is also responsible for collaborative care of the patient with benign hematological disorders receiving care in the adult infusion unit.
</li><li>While in the cancer institute ambulatory practices the APP Specialist is responsible for the care of oncology patients in the outpatient setting, specializing in either solid tumor malignancies or hematologic malignancies in partnership with primary disease center APPs, physicians, practices nurses and administrative support team members.
</li><li>Flexibility in scheduling as this position may require weekend, holiday and evening coverage as well as variable weekday assignments.

Clinical Education Systems Coordinator at the MGH Institute of Health Professions (MGH IHP)<p></p><p><b><br>
Job Summary</b></p>
Reporting to the Director of Compliance at the MGH Institute of Health Professions (MGH IHP), will coordinate and track student compliance and immunization requirements using the systems available, including Complio (until phased out) and Exxat for students in all MGH Institute schools and academic programs; communicate with students to ensure compliance is maintained; generate required reports and support the analytical needs of the Director. Will coordinate the student's use of Exxat and, with direction from the Director of Compliance, interact with the MGB Department of Occupational Health.<br>

<ul><li>Coordinate and track student compliance and immunizations requirements using the systems available including Complio and Exxat for students in all MGH Institute schools and academic programs, (55%)</li><li>Establish and maintain communication workflows with students and academic programs to ensure compliance is maintained; present comprehensive compliance overviews to incoming students during orientation sessions, ensuring clear understanding of institutional policies and requirements, (25%)</li><li>Coordinate the student use of Exxat Approve including functioning as the lead contact with Exxat/Prism, (10%)</li><li>Generate required reports, support the analytical needs of the Director, including but not limited to state immunization reporting and MGB-flu compliance, and support Office of Compliance-led activities (on-campus CPR trainings, N95 Fit Testing, flu clinic, etc.). Job Summary</b></p>
Full-time (40 hrs) 3-13-hour shifts plus one hour of education every week. Shifts are 6am-7pm and 6pm-7am with one hour overlap for sign out and to sort out pending patient care issues.<br>

Ellison 14 ICU patient populations are adult complex surgical patients including burns along with acutely ill medical patients (i.e. both SICU and MICU-type patients). While Ellison 14 is the official &lsquo;Burn ICU&rsquo; at MGH and has a storied history of caring for critically ill burn patients, currently, thermal burns constitute a minority of our patients (&lt;10%).

Ellison 14 ICU has a &lsquo;closed ICU&rsquo; model. All patients on the unit are cared for by the same team. Our APPs are the primary ICU care providers, supported by admitting surgical teams and consultants. Our multispecialty care team model, in-line with other ICUs at MGB, is based on responding clinicians (APPs and residents) supervised by 24/7 in-house attending ICU staff physicians and supported by critical care fellows.

The job includes, but is not limited to critical care interventions, intensive care monitoring, diagnosing and prescribing treatments, therapeutics, and medications, coordinating referrals and discharging patients from the ICU. We emphasize and expect responsible, collaborative decision-making from our APPs, within their full scope of supervised practice. We encourage procedural excellence.

In collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team, they would be responsible for establishing, implementing, and evaluating the ICU course of treatment and the coordination and communication of the treatment plan. The APP will have a key role in patient and family teaching, while promoting competent, compassionate nursing care for patients and relatives. They will serve as a role model for professional nursing practice.

All new hires go through a detailed on-boarding experience and several weeks-long orientation at MGH ICUs tailored to their background and prior experience.<br>

Minimum Qualifications:<br>
<ul><li>1-3 years of full-time ICU APP experience, preferred</li><li>2 or more years of full-time critical care RN experience PLUS graduation from an Acute Care NP program, required</li></ul><br>
