<li>Accountable for identifying gaps in pharmacy operations knowledge among team members and supporting those team members in their training, either through hands-on training or assignment of learning modules.</li>

<li>Documents Quality Improvement activities for the I.V. Room, e.g. hood cleaning, refrigeration temperature log, aseptic technique, etc.</li>
<li>Follows processes to ensure all medications are compliant to technology safety checks.</li>
<li>Prepares sterile products in an accurate and aseptic manner when appropriate.</li>
<li>Attends to customers as a liaison and gathers a medication history if applicable.</li>
<li>Properly manage pharmaceutical waste.</li>
<li>Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.</li>
<li>Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.</li>

Job Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant you will perform clinical tasks such as:<ul><li>
You will perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type</li><li>
You will obtain and record medical history and vital signs</li><li>
You will room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments</li><li>
You will perform specimen collection and point of care testing</li><li>
You will prepare and administer medication under the direction of healthcare provider</li><li>
You will ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (HER) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures</li></ul>
Required Qualifications<ul><li>
An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, or NHA</li><li>
Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider</li><li>
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish</li><li>
High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
1+ years of MA experience</li><li>
Phlebotomy experience</li><li>
Medication/vaccine administration experience</li><li>
CPR Certified</li><li>
We consider this role patient facing and runs the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, we will require you to screen for TB</li></ul>
Other Qualifications<ul><li>
1+ years of experience in a PCO center</li><li>

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. 

$47,300 - $61,800 per year 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
