Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs work of a pharmacy technician, in accordance with Article 137 of the Education Law, specifically Article137-A, which details the tasks permitted for a licensed pharmacy technician and an unlicensed pharmacy technician. Ensures patient safety, optimal utilization of resources, service delivery and compliance with NYC Health + Hospitals, health care setting, and all other relevant regulatory policies and standards of care to improve outcomes and patient experience.</p><p><b>
Examples of Tasks and Responsibilities</b>:</p><p>
1. Validates patient identity and screens prescriptions for completeness, formulary/restriction and payment status, prior to processing.</p><p>
2. Receives written or electronically transmitted prescriptions, types prescription labels and affixes labels on containers.</p><p>
3. Accurately keys and retrieves prescription data from a computer-generated file for review by a pharmacist.
</p><p>4. Obtains drugs from stock and returns them to stock.</p><p>
5. Restocks automated dispensing cabinets.</p><p>
6. Gets prescription files and other manual records from storage and locates prescriptions.</p><p>
7. Counts dosage units of drugs and places unit doses in appropriate containers for dispensing.</p><p>
8. Prepares manual records of dispensing for the signature or initials of the pharmacist.</p><p>
9. Handles or delivers completed prescriptions to the patient or the person authorized to act on behalf of the patient and advises of the availability of counseling to be conducted by the licensed pharmacist or pharmacy intern.</p><p>
10. Obtains data for determining prescription cost and coverage.</p><p>
11. Performs pharmacy-related clerical duties.

The Pharmacy Department at MSK applies a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We deliver comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model.</p><p></p><p><b>
Role Overview:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Perform Inventory management (ordering, receiving, stocking) via Epic Willow Inventory system.</p></li><li><p>
Complete annual competency assessments.</p></li><li><p>
Maintain pharmacy files and records.</p></li><li><p>
Assist with pharmacy inspections.</p></li><li><p>
Adhere to State and Federal regulations and Pharmacy Policies and Procedures.</p></li><li><p>
Familiar with pharmacy technology such as Omnicell cabinets and Robot Rx.</p></li><li><p>
Prepare IV sterile compounds using Epic dispense prep</p></li><li><p>
Be familiar with Epic compounding and repackaging.</p></li><li><p>

Key Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><p>
HS Diploma/GED with 2+ years of clinic/hospital experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>
PTCB or NHA Technician Certification (CPhT) required.</p></li><li><p>

What You'll Do</b></p>
<p>
Strive's Medical Assistants (MAs) play a critical role in supporting quality patient care. The MA will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the high-quality compassionate kidney care provided to our patients. While primarily conducted via telecommunication, this role may necessitate on-site visits to various healthcare settings or patient homes. This hybrid role includes in-home visits based on patient requirements, with potential face-to-face meetings with colleagues and leadership as needed. This role will report to the Lead, Nurse Practitioner.
 </p><p><b>The Day to Day</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Executes on the measurement, collection, and recording of vital signs, phlebotomy, etc.</li>
<li>Supports functions including answering telephone calls, retrieving medical records from external sources, completing patient intakes, and appointment scheduling.
</li><li>Enters documentation in the patient's medical record by inputting medications, labs, patient demographics and history, screening data, care documentation, and pharmacy information.</li>
<li>Ensures patient consent is in place, obtains consent if not already completed.</li>
<li>Supports Nurse Practitioners for visits, follow up tasks including patient outreach, educational materials, DME etc.</li>
<li>Serves patients and performs patient visits in multiple care settings as defined by role including patient home, clinics, partner MD space, and via telehealth/virtual visits.</li>
<li>Collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure the delivery of holistic patient care.</li>
<li>Provides in-person patient care which may include standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>2+ years combined of related education, experience, or certification.</li>
<li>Graduate from a medical assistant program such as Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, OR Graduate of a formal medical assistant program.</li>
<li>Current BLS or CPR Certification required.
</li><li>Efficient and reliable transportation, including an active driver's license, allowing for the ability to travel across an assigned region to meet patient needs. Locations may include offices, clinics, and patient homes.</li>
<li>Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency &lt;60 ms.</li>
<li>Good communication and customer service skills.</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.</li>
<li>Highly collaborative, with experience working on multidisciplinary teams.</li>
<li>Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
</li><li>Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Hourly Range: </b>$22.12-$25.00</p><div><p>
Final compensation will be determined based on location, experience, and qualifications.</p>
