The producer will work with MI Senior Fellow Christopher F. Rufo and Jordan Chamberlain, Director of Rapid Response. In this role, you will be responsible for amplifying City Journal&rsquo;s content by creating, editing, and packaging multimedia content for distribution across platforms like X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

A successful candidate will be a creative video editor with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about using digital tools to expand the reach of serious policy ideas.

The goal is not only to reach a large audience, but to make real and immediate change by reaching decision-makers. Understanding both the social media landscape as a whole and having fluency within each individual platform is essential to success.

Required qualifications

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent years of relevant working experience</li><li>
3 or more years of experience producing for a live news outlet or show</li><li>
A deep understanding of how to pre-produce live videos that meet peak editorial standards</li><li>
Experience collaborating with correspondents, reporters, and broadcast talent</li><li>
A strong grasp of analytics and the ability to absorb feedback on content performance and incorporate that into the production approach, where needed</li><li>
Strong news judgment and excellent writing, research, interviewing, and communication skills</li><li>
Ability to pivot quickly to breaking news assignments and adjust priorities as needed</li><li>
Flexibility to respond to breaking news situations outside of regular working hours</li><li>
Continue to experiment and evolve our video franchises, story selection, formats, and visual styles</li><li>
Experience shooting professionally on Sony/Canon camera systems and iPhones is a plus</li><li>
Fluency in Adobe Premiere and other post-production tools is a plus</li></ul>

Additional Requirements<ul><li>
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.</li></ul>

Salary range: $93,000 - $120,000
