Position Summary

The Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) is hiring a Program Associate to provide operational and research support with respect to our broad portfolios of work concerning sustainable investment in land, agriculture, mineral value chains and food systems; climate finance; and transition planning, among others. Ideal candidates will have recently received their undergraduate degree, or will be graduating in Summer 2026, and will envision staying in the position for one year with a possible extension.

CCSI is an applied research center at the Columbia Law and Climate Schools. We seek to develop policies and practices that shape public and private investments to advance, rather than undermine, sustainable development and human rights.

Responsibilities

<li>Conduct background research in preparation for projects, meetings, and events. This includes staying abreast of global current events related to sustainable investment.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director, Career Design Lab works as part of the Career Design Lab team in advising and educating students regarding career goals, strategies and individual professional development through individual advising sessions, small group workshops and presentations.  The Dining Servers provide excellent customer service and create a pleasant dining experience for Residents and guests, through taking meal orders, serving meals, and providing assistance. Various full and part time schedules available.
 
 
 
 Schedule: Part-time
 
 
 
 
 Salary: $16.00 - $17.00 Hourly
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities and Duties:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Take residents&rsquo; dining orders in a friendly and attentive disposition
 </li>
 <li>
 Learn and retain residents&rsquo; names, special requests, and dietary restrictions
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure dining room is set up, all items needed for service are readily available (silverware, napkins, menus, salt/pepper shakers, etc.)
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations, and other areas as directed
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure safe food handling
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with preparation of beverages, snacks, desserts, salads, and condiments for service
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist residents with any special dining requests
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal, and completing documentation of their attendance
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with special events
 </li>
 <li>
 Participates in and attends all in-service training as scheduled
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
 </li>
 <li>

 Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>

 High school diploma preferred/GED accepted
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of one (1) year experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full service senior living
 </li>

 Ability to handle multiple priorities
 </li>
 <li>
 Competent in organizational, time management skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working with seniors

 Physical Abilities:

 While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.

 An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
