Job Duties<ul><li>
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with the nurse practice act, federal and state regulations, facility policies and procedures, and prudent nursing judgment</li><li>
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the delivery of a resident&rsquo;s plan of care in accordance with current physician&rsquo;s orders, rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities</li><li>
Have knowledge of and utilize of the facility&rsquo;s written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department</li><li>
Utilize established methods for coordination and communication of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents&rsquo; total regimen of care</li><li>
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed</li><li>
Conduct themselves in a professional manner in compliance with facility policies</li><li>
Agree not to disclose assigned user ID code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator</li><li>
Agree not to disclose resident&rsquo;s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator</li><li>
Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility&rsquo;s information system.</li><li>
Participate in developing, evaluating, revising, and implementing a plan of care for each resident to achieve and maintain the highest practicable level of wellbeing possible</li><li>
Provide education to residents/families/caregivers when the need arises, or as directed by Administration and/or physician</li><li>
Provides prompt emergency support measures, including CPR, in accordance with physician orders, resident/family wishes, advance directives, and facility policies and procedures.</li><li>
Provide care in a professional/courteous manner by ensuring the resident is approached in a kind, gentle and friendly manner</li><li>
Provide care in a manner that respect for the resident's dignity and privacy is consistently upheld</li><li>
Ensure that nursing interventions are performed in a timely manner. If there must be a delay, explanations for delays in answers/responses are provided</li><li>
Develop daily work assignments and unit assignments, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing such tasks</li><li>
Make frequent rounds of the assigned unit to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards</li><li>
Provide care in a manner that is courteous and respects the residents&rsquo; dignity and privacy</li><li>
Provide complaint/grievance reports to the Administrator as required or as may be necessary</li><li>
Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility&rsquo;s policies and procedures governing accidents and incidents</li><li>
Report known or suspected incidents of fraud, abuse, neglect, and/or misappropriation to the Administrator</li><li>
Ensure that departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off or the password protected automatic screensaver activates within established facility policy guidelines</li><li>

Required Education and Experience<ul><li>

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
 
 
 
 How you will contribute
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
 </li>
 <li>
 You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
 </li>
 <li>
 You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
 </li>
 <li>
 You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
 </li>
 <li>
 You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Role and Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor for Nursing Education facilitates on-ground education instruction by incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies, and other industry trends reflecting advancements in the discipline by promoting an interdisciplinary approach to advanced practice nursing education and healthcare delivery within and outside the College. The incumbent will be accountable for delivering the nursing curriculum in accordance with the Program's mission, vision, values, and purposes. The Assistant Professor will engage with learners in all aspects of the nursing education process including evaluating the potential for achievement in the program and is accountable for Nursing Education Services successful attainment of key performance indicators, program and functional outcomes, and the success of the College's mission. <ul><li>Facilitates learning in the various supervised on-ground focused education (SOFE) sites, including clinical, simulation, or skills labs across the United States.</li><li>
Responsible for teaching and evaluating learners in the Practical Nursing, Baccalaureate and Master's Degree Nursing Programs.</li><li>
Monitors, engages, and maintains open communication with learners in all aspects of the nursing education process including attendance, performance, comprehension, and evaluation in accordance with course outcomes, and submits required reports according to published deadlines.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
<ul><li>Earned Graduate degree with a major in nursing from an accredited institution supplemented by 0-1 year of relevant experience.
</li><li>Active, unencumbered RN or APRN license from state of residence and ability to obtain RN and NP licensure in any jurisdiction required by the College, including a valid multi-state license.</li><li>
Either has an earned Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential or commits to obtaining this certification within a one-year period.</li><li>
Maintains current knowledge in multiple areas of nursing practice.</li><li>
Two (2) years of experience in clinical nursing, within the past five (5) years.</li><li>
Two (2) years of experience supervising clinical education activities preferred.</li><li>
Maintains immunizations and certification records as required by accreditation, facility, or state board of nursing.</li><li>
Additional Contributions: Annual Professional Development, Service as SME, Service on Committees, and learner load will be congruent with current faculty matrix for the assigned course(s).</li><li>
One (1) year experience in delivery of Concept Based Nursing Education is preferred.</li><li>
One (1) year of distance education experience preferred.</li><li>
Familiarity with learning management software, Canvas preferred.</li><li>
Proficiency in modern technology platforms and ability to quickly adapt to various software.</li></ul>
