Responsibilities

Leads requirements management, software engineering, system testing, and acceptance testing activities across all stages and iterations for complex software development and integration initiatives. Assists with the organization's selection, adaptation, and adoption of new models, methods, and tools. Collaborates across parties involved in product, systems, or service design.

Leads the definition, documentation, and successful completion of large projects within business objectives and resource constraints, ensuring adherence to agreed enterprise architectures, and the application of effective change- release-, risk, and quality-management processes.

Prioritizes and diagnoses incidents, investigates and resolves complex issues, leads root cause analysis, and proposes corrective actions. Develops system and acceptance testing criteria related to functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, features, business processes, and business rules. Designs, specifies, and executes test cases and scenarios.</li><li>
Plans and leads user experience design activities for large programs and products, providing expert advice to ensure that usability, accessibility, and visual design requirements are satisfied.
</li><li>Develops, maintains, and applies tools and documentation to track, log, and maintain accurate and complete system information. Audits complex software systems for adherence to configuration standards.</li><li>
Plans, organizes, conducts, and oversees assigned quality and safety assurance assessments involving complex systems and cross-functional teams. Provides expert advice on assurance activities.</li><li>
Manages the operational relationships with suppliers to ensure potential disputes or conflicts are raised and resolved. Contributes technical elements of RFP/RFIs and negotiates contract terms and SLAs. Manages suppliers to meet key performance indicators.</li><li>
Continuously develops and maintains personal knowledge of software engineering practices, emerging trends, and technologies.
</li><li>Provides technical advice to project teams and mentors less experienced staff to foster talent development.</li><li>
Performs other duties and tasks

 Current&rsquo;s Engineering team is dedicated to building our products and infrastructure. With our applications running on Google Cloud Kubernetes Engine, we support a proprietary banking core that can scale to handle millions of transactions a day. Our stack includes MongoDB and Spanner for persistence, Pub/Sub for asynchronous event processing, Dataflow for data transformation paired with BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage for data storage and analytics. Our backend services are written in Java and our data pipelines are built in Scala.
 
 
 We work across a broad set of domains, including user-facing products like liquidity offerings and reward programs, infrastructure for machine learning and experimentation, real-time fraud detection and identity protection, and large-scale transaction processing across multiple payment rails.
 
 
 We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in New York. This role has a salary range of $150,000 - $200,000. You will work alongside senior engineers to build and improve backend services, contribute to system design discussions, and deliver features that impact millions of members. The ideal candidate should have a background in backend development and experience working with cloud-hosted services. This person should be eager to grow, comfortable taking ownership of well-scoped projects, and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.

 About You
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 2+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design principles
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong problem-solving and communication skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP is a plus

As a Member of Technical Staff - Internal Agent Engineering at Entendre, you will build systems that make Entendre AI native, enhancing the core developer experience and internal operations. You will drive the creation of internal agents to improve efficiency and knowledge management, making a direct impact on the productivity and effectiveness of our team.<ul><li>
Design and ship internal agents focused on developer experience, operations, and knowledge management.</li><li>
Define and maintain context architectures&mdash;including documentation, code repositories, and APIs&mdash;that internal agents can reason about and utilize.</li><li>
Identify key bottlenecks in workflows and design systems to eliminate them permanently.</li><li>
Develop lightweight internal products, such as CLI tools, Slack bots, and Chrome extensions, to empower teammates with powerful capabilities.</li><li>
Document all tools and systems you build to ensure they are easy for others to extend and maintain.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
What We're Looking For</h2><ul><li>
Proven experience building scalable internal tools, agents, or workflow-automation products.</li><li>
Strong understanding of developer workflows, context management, and internal process automation.</li><li>
Proficiency in software development, API building, and integrating diverse systems.</li><li>
Excellent documentation and communication skills to facilitate team-wide adoption and extension of your work.</li><li>
Experience developing internal agents such as coding agents, CRM agents, or customer support agents.</li><li>
Ability to architect solutions that treat the company as an evolving, accessible knowledge base.</li></ul>
