 Position Summary
 
 
 This Middle Distillates trading role is part of Marathon&rsquo;s Clean Products Team inside the Commercial organization based in Houston with frontline trading responsibility for the key Northeast/NYH region. This position is within a cross-functional collaborative team generating trading value around marketing and refining assets, third party dealmaking, storage positions, a commercial fleet and dynamic teamwork. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of traded oil markets in Marathon, while building a dynamic Northeast portfolio and growing commercial skillsets. This role is within an established team of oil products trading professionals.
 
 
 This position requires exceptional teamwork, communication and collaboration skills to grow the Middle Distillates and Products Trading portfolio across the Americas and globally. Marathon&rsquo;s trading activity supports supply chain integrity and safety in all operations. MPC core values are a central feature in day-to-day operations.
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Primarily responsible for growing/developing the Northeast and New York Harbour trading desk as well as support to the broader MPC distillate team.
 </li>
 <li>
 Continuously reviews market conditions and the short-term supply and sales plans; recommends and implements changes to the plan to optimize overall value to MPC (product yield shifts, sales channel shifts, import/export changes, etc.).
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluates and executes discretionary trade and business development opportunities beyond the core business (storage, blending, freight deals).
 </li>
 <li>
 Initiates and completes negotiations and executes or recommends execution of deals (purchase, exchange, and sale in contracts) that maximize economic benefits to the company.
 </li>
 <li>
 Builds and maintains internal and external relationships with counterparties and business partners.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares periodic reports on market activities and supply/demand or competitive developments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborates with the value chain and various members of the extended business team (Credit, Legal, Accounting, etc.) to stay abreast of trading, logistical and financial activity, meet regulatory requirements, prepare contracts, address information queries, and develop acquisition/sales strategies to achieve optimum value.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participates in the negotiation or development of commercial resolutions impacting trading desk (e.g., disputes, claims, etc.).
 </li>
 <li>
 Analyzes and anticipates market conditions to optimize economic value added from purchases, sales, and exchanges in the short-term.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manages basis commodity exposure and/or physical inventory position to maximize market structure value within operational constraints in collaboration with Refining, Scheduling, and Finance groups.
 </li>
 <li>
 Optimizes transportation and storage asset utilization, while managing costs and maximizing economic benefit in collaboration with key stakeholders with a focus on short term.

 As a Senior Gas Trader, you report to Gas Trading Director and manage risk and trade the Northeast US Natural Gas markets for ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA).
