This position offers an engaging environment where your mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities will shine, making a tangible impact every day.Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform thorough inspections of trailers and heavy equipment, identifying mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools. </li><li>Repair and maintain trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, air brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, shocks &amp; struts, and electrical components. </li><li>Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work to repair or modify equipment as needed. </li><li>Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to execute repairs with precision and safety. </li><li>Troubleshoot complex mechanical problems on farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. </li><li>Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports to track repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks. </li><li>Assist with tire service, wheel alignment, HVAC systems, soldering tasks, heavy lifting operations, and general vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or heavy equipment technician; dealership experience is highly valued. </li><li>Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical troubleshooting. </li><li>Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and assembly using various hand tools and power tools. </li><li>Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex repairs. </li><li>Experience working with heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. </li><li>Familiarity with automotive repair standards such as shocks &amp; struts replacement and tire service. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to maintenance support. </li><li>Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; willingness to work with power tools safely. <li>Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 6am - 2:30pm, Friday 6am-12pm OR</li>
<li>Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Friday half-day (flexible hours) OR</li>
<li>Option 3: Friday - Sunday: 6:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday 7am - 12p</li>

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Aircraft Mechanic Instructor to prepare students for successful careers in aircraft maintenance by delivering our FAA-aligned curriculum through high quality instruction, demonstrating hands-on techniques and fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Teach our FAA-aligned curriculum in a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and skill development</li>
</ul><ul><li>Support program leadership in the development and revision of high quality, accurate course materials
</li></ul><ul><li>Record accurate attendance, grades, evaluations, and other required documentation</li>
</ul><ul><li>Notify leadership of any emerging concerns affecting student performance or classroom operations</li>
</ul><ul><li>Complete required training and participate in classroom observations and evaluations</li>
<li>Complete other tasks and projects assigned by Supervisor</li>
</ul>
Qualifications

Education
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED</li>
</ul><ul><li>Associate degree in a related field preferred</li>
</ul>
Experience
<ul>
<li>At least three (3) years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience</li>
</ul>
Skillset
<ul>
<li>Strong command of aircraft maintenance systems and procedures with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with and openness to learning Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)</li>
</ul><ul><li>Flexibility to work outside scheduled hours as needed

FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&amp;P) Mechanic Certificate
