The Project Accountant is responsible for end-to-end commercial accounting support on a fixed-price engineering, procurement &amp; construction project. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an integral part of our organization, you will champion best practices in accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and support strategic financial initiatives.Duties<ul><li>Supervise daily accounting activities, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements.</li><li>Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate financial statements and reports.</li><li>Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to maintain data integrity.</li><li>Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management activities, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity.</li><li>Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.</li><li>Support budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting efforts aligned with organizational goals.</li><li>Implement and maintain accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms to streamline operations.</li><li>Provide guidance on technical accounting issues including revenue recognition, payroll processing, and complex transactions.</li><li>Develop and enforce internal controls to mitigate risks related to financial reporting and compliance.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting standards.</li><li>Strong expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and account analysis.</li><li>Proficiency with accounting software including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and other financial management tools.</li><li>Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles, debits &amp; credits, and general ledger reconciliation processes.</li><li>Experience with accounts payable/receivable management and payroll processing.</li><li>Ability to analyze financial data critically for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.</li><li>Excellent communication skills for preparing detailed financial reports and collaborating across teams.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership in managing teams within a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
