The David J. Sugarbaker Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider to provide high quality surgical care under the direction of a group of physicians at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Candidate will be expected to provide clinical excellence and scholarly enthusiasm. The provider will have direct patient care responsibilities. The selected candidate will be appointed as a faculty Instructor and be eligible for full faculty benefits.
 
Job Duties
 
Primary responsibilities include inpatient care of thoracic surgery patients in coordination with attending physician and resident physician teams. This will include thorough pre-round chart review, engagement in collaborative rounds with attending physicians as well as independent rounding, documentation of clinical decision-making and treatment plans, coordination and execution of the day’s care plan, including wound management and other procedural interventions as needed, and frequent follow up on pt progress and testing to ensure patients are progressing through their plan of care.
 
Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations. See consults independently and/or with residents/fellows in various settings – floor, ICU, ED, etc.
 Formulate assessments and plans and evaluate the patient response to care
 Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and MR and CT imaging
 Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the EPIC electronic medical record system
 Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments (while inpatient and upon discharge)
 Educate patients on prescribed therapeutic regimens, home care and health maintenance
 Remove chest tubes and JP drains as indicated, provide wound care to chest tube sites and surgical wounds
 Perform bedside simple wound debridement, suture closure, and bedside intrapleural therapeutic procedures
 Provide wound care and education on cervical esophagostomies, negative pressure wound therapies (wound vac), feeding tubes, indwelling pleural catheters, and tracheostomies to patients and staff
 Provide guidance and work direction to support staff, including, but not limited to nurses, social workers, and clinic coordinators
 Optimize discharge planning for all patients including participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds for floor and ICU patients, as well as timely and clear discharge communication to outpatient team
 Communicate with physicians, patients, and the family members of patients concerning patient care
 Provide orientation, direction and support to PA/NP students, medical students, and/or residents assigned to the service
 Promote a positive work environment with a team-based approach through supportive and respectful interactions with peers, staff, learners, and faculty
 Other duties as assigned

 Education Required: Master’s degree in in Nursing.
 Experience Required: None required.
 Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Job Description:</h1> 
We are seeking a Principal to lead and grow our Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice. This leader will be responsible for building the vertical strategy, expanding market presence, developing client relationships, and shaping finance focused managed services solutions for companies across the energy sector.
This is a senior leadership role for a market facing executive who brings deep finance and industry experience, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to translate complex client needs into scalable managed services solutions. The Principal will help clients strengthen finance operations, improve visibility and control, modernize processes, and create more resilient operating models. The ideal candidate brings a combination of industry credibility, commercial leadership, and operating model experience. This person will help position Managed Services as a strategic operating partner to energy clients rather than a traditional outsourcing provider
The role is focused exclusively on the Finance function and includes leadership across finance transformation, controllership support, close and reporting, FP&amp;A support, procure to pay, order to cash, cash flow visibility, compliance, and finance related application support.
Key Responsibilities
Practice leadership<ul><li>
Lead the Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice as the senior industry leader</li><li>
Define the growth strategy, market priorities, and solution focus for the practice</li><li>
Build a differentiated point of view around finance managed services for the energy sector</li><li>
Partner across the firm to align industry strategy, managed services capabilities, and client priorities</li><li>
Help establish the practice as a recognized leader in finance operations and transformation for energy clients</li></ul>
Business development and revenue growth<ul><li>
Originate and close new business within the Oil and Gas / Energy sector</li><li>
Build relationships with CFOs, CAOs, controllers, finance leaders, private equity sponsors, and portfolio company executives</li><li>
Identify and pursue opportunities across new logos, existing clients, and cross sell relationships</li><li>
Lead strategic pursuits, solution development, executive presentations, and pricing discussions</li><li>
Develop a strong and actionable pipeline that supports practice growth goals</li></ul>
Finance solution development<ul><li>
Shape finance managed services solutions tailored to Oil and Gas / Energy clients</li></ul>

Close and consolidation</li><li>
Management reporting</li><li>

Bring practical insight into the finance challenges unique to the sector, including joint ventures, complex allocations, project accounting, asset intensive operations, multi entity structures, and acquisition integration</li><li>

Client advisory and executive engagement<ul><li>
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior finance executives</li><li>
Help clients assess their current finance function, identify gaps, and define a future state model</li><li>
Position managed services as a strategic enabler of stronger finance performance, not simply a staffing alternative</li><li>
Support clients through finance modernization, process redesign, control enhancement, and operating model evolution</li><li>
Act as executive sponsor for priority client relationships within the practice</li></ul>
Internal collaboration and capability building<ul><li>
Partner with delivery leaders to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with client outcomes</li><li>
Inform talent strategy for the practice, including capability needs, leadership requirements, and industry expertise</li><li>
Contribute to the development of playbooks, solution assets, and industry specific offerings</li><li>
Support recruiting, mentoring, and development of talent aligned with the practice</li><li>
Provide leadership input into annual planning, forecasting, and investment priorities</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
20+ years of experience in finance, consulting, managed services, outsourcing, or transformation, with significant experience in Oil and Gas or Energy</li><li>
Proven leadership experience in building or scaling a practice, service line, or industry vertical</li><li>
Deep understanding of finance operating models and managed services solutions</li><li>
Strong commercial track record with demonstrated success in business development and executive relationship management</li><li>
Experience advising CFOs, controllers, and finance leadership teams on transformation, performance improvement, and finance operations</li></ul></div>
