Job Duties: This CSO I position is assigned to the Adult Court Services Department, primarily writing presentence reports.
 
 
This position requires knowledge of the Kansas Sentencing Guidelines. This Officer will be responsible for completing thorough in-depth presentence investigation reports assigned through the District Court. This will include reading KBI/REJIS/NCIC reports and requesting criminal records from other jurisdictions to determine a defendant&rsquo;s criminal history. Duties include interviewing defendants and victims and making recommendations for probation requirements based on the information gained from those interviews. This position will require the completion of LSCMI, WRNA, and SASSI certification (within 1 year) to determine probation placement and SB 123 eligibility. Maintaining a close working relationship with district attorneys, defense attorneys and judges of the District Court is required. Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in corrections, criminology, psychology, sociology, social work, or a closely related field.
