Job Description 
As part of the Design Team, the Motion Art Director is responsible for the conceptual development and execution of motion graphics in service of the Peacock brand. The Motion Art Director is expected to lead the Motion Team. Working with the Head of Brand Design, the Motion Art Director is responsible for making sure all design created by the team is in line with the overall Peacock Brand strategy as well as the strategic imperatives of specific projects.
The Motion Art Director&rsquo;s job requires strong conceptual skills including the ability to creatively problem solve and interpret a strategy graphically. Their background should include formal training in graphic design, typography and motion design, a current knowledge of styles and trends in design and branding, knowledge of sophisticated motion graphics techniques and video technology as well as hands on knowledge of graphics software such as After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
The Design Team services Peacock Brand Design, On-Platform, Muti-title and Library Creative, Partnerships, Films, Originals, Growth &amp; Performance Marketing, and supports the broader teams across company, so strong collaboration, communication and teamwork are required.
In addition to managing and directing work created by the team and external agencies, the Motion Art Director is responsible for executing high level projects.  Our client, a large publishing company for magazines and editorials, &nbsp;is seeking a Junior Editorial Designer to their team. This candidate will work closely with the Art Director, Creative Director, and editorial staff to design feature layouts and editorial pages. In addition to magazine work, this role will contribute to design projects for other company publications, advertorials, and occasional event related collateral, collaborating with a team of designers across the organization.
 
 
 This is an onsite role (4 days/week) in Manhattan, NYC, starting as freelance and eventually converting to full-time placement.
 
 
 Responsibilities:
 
 - Design feature layouts and editorial pages for magazine
 
 - Contribute to design work across other magazines and advertorials
 
 - Assist with event collateral graphics as needed
 
 - Collaborate with the Art Director, Creative Director, editorial staff, and design team
 
 
 Must haves:
 
 - 2-3 years of editorial design experience
