A skilled writer and collaborative team member, the Assistant Director excels at shaping stories from across the Museum that demonstrate both the significance of the Museum&rsquo;s work and the opportunities for donor support to deepen that impact.<br>

Responsible for creating donor-facing materials, the Assistant Director partners directly with frontline fundraisers, Advancement leadership and colleagues across the Museum to gather information, develop donor communications materials and manage these projects from concept through completion. This position requires strong writing and editing abilities, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate understands how compelling storytelling drives philanthropic engagement.<br>

Develop and write original donor-facing communications, including impact briefs, program summaries, pitch presentations, talking points, donor newsletters, website copy and other Advancement materials highlighting the Museum&rsquo;s work and the role of philanthropy.</li>
<li>Research and gather information from programmatic departments, scientists, educators and others across the Museum to identify and develop compelling stories about institutional initiatives, strategic priorities and the impact of philanthropy.</li>

The Pension Boards does not offer reimbursements for relocation, housing or commuting costs.</i></p><p><b>Position Summary</b></p><p>The United Church Board of Ministerial Assistance is seeking an intern for the Summer 2026 to provide support to the Grants and Scholarships unit which is updating its grant policies, procedures, and management tools. This intern will work with the Director of Grants and Scholarships and interact with various program management staff and other business units across the Pension Boards. This internship supports The Ministerial Assistance strategic plan, which enables the organization to operate efficiently as it implements service and program growth.</p><p><b>What you&rsquo;ll do:</b></p><ul><li>Assist the Director of Grants and Scholarships to identify opportunities to streamline existing grant workflow, update grant policies and procedures resulting from the program review process to improve grant management and compliance tools and capabilities.</li><li>Assist in the administration of the grants process at all stages, including receiving, evaluating, tracking and paying requests, as well as maintaining accurate and timely records in our grant management system of all program activities</li><li>Support the interaction of Ministerial Assistance with Finance, Member Services, and Communications teams; generate requested information, data and reports from information maintained in the grants management database or other sources of information</li><li>Assist with the preparation of grant related marketing and promotion materials for the website, social media, presentations and workshops, committees, and board meetings</li><li>Assist with data analysis and reporting of performance indicators and to assist with the execution of reports to show program impact while monitoring daily operations</li><li>Collaborate with the Director of Grants and Scholarships and other colleagues to implement new initiatives and programs while ensuring continued quality and timeliness across all aspects of the existing 9-grant program cycles.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p><b>What you&rsquo;ll need:</b></p><ul><li>A bachelor&rsquo;s or masters degree (in progress) in Finance, Project Management, Non- Profit Administration or related discipline preferred</li><li>Strong organizational and project management skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Understanding the importance of compliance in the project management cycle</li><li>Excellent computer skills (Advanced MS Office skills, Dashboards and Reporting Tools, Relational Database) Experience in using project management tools</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills; exceptional interpersonal skills, a focused listener</li><li>Ability to take initiative and manage projects assigned through completion with minimal supervision</li><li>Ability to think critically, act decisively, and synthesize program and operational issues</li><li>Creative and innovative thinker, who actively presents new opportunities, proposes solutions, and recommends best practices</li><li>A self-starting, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to the organization and the position</li><li>Exhibits a positive attitude and professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills</li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.</li></ul><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul><p>Ability to Commute:</p><ul><li>New York, NY 10115 (Required)</li></ul><p>Ability to Relocate:</p><ul><li>New York, NY 10115: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)</li></ul><p>Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 10115</p>
