<p><b>POSITION PURPOSE:</b></p><p>This role accelerates business value by assisting the Plant Manager (PM) in providing leadership and management to plant operations including providing management oversight for the day-to-day operations and proper functioning of a plant to include Manufacturing, Distribution, Engineering, Maintenance, Sales, Environmental Health and Safety and Purchasing. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership&rsquo;s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.</p><div><p>
The Pipeline Operator performs terminal and station operations both in and outside responsibilities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>
Plans vessel arrival, directs position of the vessel along the dock, places gangway equipment from the vessel to shore, and attaches loading arms to vessel.</li><li>
Leads pre-transfer meeting with vessel Captain and Officers to review Declaration of Inspection, Terminal Rules and Regulations, and other related information and documentation.</li><li>
Plans and executes vessel discharge and crude oil delivery to appropriate pipelines or tankage.</li><li>
Monitors operational data during crude oil movements and takes appropriate actions when necessary.</li><li>
Performs valve alignments, connection and disconnection of loading arms and hoses, monitors and operates vapor combustion system for marine terminal vessel loading.</li><li>
Performs and assists with facility maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, lifting equipment, and other facility equipment as needed.</li><li>
Ensures safety and protection of the environment for of activities performed by terminal and vessels while berthed, including bunkering, maintenance, inspection, and crude oil washing activities.</li><li>
Read, monitor and record various operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, hours of operations, fuel consumed, water levels, etc.</li><li>
Performs basic maintenance activities, such as strainer cleaning, general housekeeping, and other related activities.</li><li>
Operate plant equipment &amp; system.</li><li>
Start-up/Shutdown of plant equipment.</li><li>
Visually inspect equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.</li><li>
De-pressure equipment and pipelines.</li><li>
Assigns work permits for company and contract personnel working at local facilities.</li><li>
Develops procedures for abnormal operational activities and communicates procedures to internal customers.</li><li>
Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, public and environment at all times.</li><li>
Communicates operational information, maintenance needs, and other related information to internal and external customers in both verbal and written form.</li><li>
Coordinates emergency response activities when necessary and can act as first responder when required.</li><li>
Obtains and maintains US Coast Guard person-in-charge certification.</li><li>
Capable of activating emergency response plan for the area, including making necessary preliminary notifications.</li><li>
Operate under Process Safety Management (PSM) as required.</li><li>
Collaborate with direct supervisor on new and improved ideas associated with an evolving plant and pipeline system.</li><li>
Work a rotating 12 hour shift schedule.</li></ul></div></div><p></p><div><b>
Qualifications</b><div>

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:</div><ul><li>
A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.</li><li>
Associates degree in related field preferred.</li><li>
Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field is preferred.</li><li>
A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.</li><li>
May be required to participate in the Respiratory Protection Program and wear respirator to perform tasks.</li><li>
Must be able to follow written procedures.</li><li>
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.</li><li>
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, manuals and reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.</li><li>
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concept such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions if required.</li><li>
Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.</li><li>
Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.</li><li>
Must live or relocate within 1 hour of reporting time.</li><li>
Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.</li><li>
Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.</li><li>
Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools.</li><li>
Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.</li><li>
May work in confined spaces (i.e. tanks, between compressors, vessels).</li></ul><p></p><p><br>
