Position Description

The Media Associate has a vital role within our media activation teams, as their tasks lay the foundation for the media buying process. They provide administrative support in the stewardship of media buys across multiple media accounts through preliminary research on the availability of airtime/space in different media (TV, Radio, Digital, Out of Home), negotiation with networks and preparation of various documents related to media buying and consumption for different clients. 


Duties And Responsibilities

You&rsquo;ll supervise the rest of the editors, giving them creative notes, video editing workflow best practices, troubleshooting problems and overall quality control. You&rsquo;ll coordinate media backups with our production management team. And work with our team and creative director to have graphic guidelines as well as create custom graphics and thumbnails to help click through rates. You must edit fast and with a flourish. Expertise with key products in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects) as well as Adobe graphic templates. You&rsquo;ll edit videos for digital platforms using a mix of original footage, stock footage and social media content. 
Along with editing digitally-native video, you will help generate our content, pitching video ideas daily and contributing to the team brainstorming. We seek a candidate who is excited about new types of multimedia storytelling and has a track record of creating digital video in a fast-paced news organization. Must be aware of the latest formats and trends in digital video as a distinct form of content versus television.

Responsibilities: 
<ul><li>Lead the editing and post-production of high-priority Page Six video series,</li></ul>
branded content, and celebrity-focused digital features optimized for social and 
web platforms. 
<ul><li>Supervise and mentor video editors by providing creative direction, workflow</li></ul>
guidance, troubleshooting support, and overall quality control in a fast-paced 
newsroom environment. 
<ul><li>Edit compelling, digitally native videos using original footage, stock assets, and social media content while maintaining Page Six&rsquo;s signature voice, tone, and style.</li><li>Collaborate with producers, creative leadership, and production management to develop graphics packages, thumbnails, sizzle reels, and promotional assets that drive audience engagement and click-through rates.</li><li>Pitch timely celebrity, fashion, and entertainment video concepts daily,</li></ul>
contributing innovative storytelling ideas aligned with trending topics and 
audience interests. 
<ul><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, ensuring efficient turnaround, media organization, backups, and adherence to production</li></ul>
schedules. 
<ul><li>Apply advanced post-production techniques including color correction, audio</li></ul>
mixing, multi-cam editing, and vertical video formatting using Adobe Creative 
Suite tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.</div> 
The ideal candidate will have:<ul><li>5-10 years experience editing celebrity videos for digital outlets</li><li>Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere</li><li>Knowledge of studio and control room operations</li><li>Ability to color correct and mix audio.</li><li>Ability to create vertical videos for various social platforms</li><li>Be able to work very quickly under pressure</li><li>Pitch video ideas daily and contribute to team brainstorming.</li><li>Experience with multicam editing</li><li>Motion graphics experience a plus as is simple animation, but not necessary</li><li>Ability to select and use music to match the tone and style of the story</li><li>Must be organized, work well in a fast-paced environment and be a team-player.</li><li>Can-do attitude is key: someone who believes news doesn&rsquo;t have to be boring</li></ul>
