 <div>UAA's Aviation Technology Division (ATD), Aircraft Triage/Maintenance Department is accepting applications for Aircraft Ramp Assistants. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply!

The primary purpose of the part-time, student Ramper position is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the department in the performance of (but not limited to) the following tasks:
 
 
Performing ramp services such as aircraft detailing and cleaning, sweeping, snow removal, servicing tie downs, and performing other tasks as assigned in an effort to reduced potential damage hazards to training aircraft. 
 
Assisting with aircraft movement in and out of maintenance hangar, the aircraft ramp areas, assisting with aircraft tie downs and covering daily to ensure safety and security and limit damage risk to aircraft. 
 
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Actively pursuing an aviation-related degree</li>
<li>Introductory Ground Operations and Safety Course or combination training and experience.</li>
<li>To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must: 
a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; 
or 
b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; 
and 
c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs or their designee.</li>

Position Details:

This position is located on the Aviation Technology Complex at Merrill Field Airport in Anchorage, AK. Pay is $15.57/hour. Successful candidates will be scheduled up to 20 hours per week during the academic year (spring/fall) while classes are in session and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

This recruitment if open to undergraduate students only.

Ramp Service Agents (RSA) at Pegasus Aviation Services are responsible for marshalling aircraft in the gate, loading, unloading and sorting freight and baggage. RSAs are also responsible for servicing security functions, aircraft lavatories, potable water, push back aircraft from the gate, deicing and other duties as delegated. The RSA position is a support services position whose work routine is established and follows a set of procedures. It generally functions under close supervisory direction or guidance of the Customer Service Reps, Supervisors, or Ramp Managers.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft).</li><li>

Communicates the size and weight restrictions of company aircraft to the customer when needed.</li><li>
Coach's agents to use their time sensibly so that that freight is built, marked and tagged completely and accurately.</li><li>
Relays company expectations to CSA&rsquo;s. Demonstrates the understanding of all company processes. Ensures the compliance by all agents and, if needed, implements disciplinary action.</li><li>
When new procedures are implemented, makes sure the training of agents is complete to provide the best possible value to the company and its customers.</li><li>
 Assists in disciplining customer service employees. Discreetly performs informal disciplinary action with employees when necessary. Informs the Cargo Manager of any employees who may need formal disciplinary action.</li><li>
 Assists customers with concerns and claims as they arise. Addresses initial customer concerns regarding damaged freight, timely transportation in person or on the telephone. Documents customer concerns that need the attention of the Cargo Manager and pass the information on to him or her. Follows up on customer issues that are delegated to others for resolution.</li></ul>

Summary: 
 
Under close supervision responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality health care to customer- owners and their families.
Level III employees perform high level, complex, and responsible tasks within this position, train lower level employees, and generally work with minimum supervision and follow-up from their supervisor.
Responsibilities: 
 
Creates, develops, and nurtures culturally appropriate interactions. Applies customer service guidelines appropriate for the situation.
Assists providers in the delivery of quality health care. Performs basic medical procedures before and after examination including taking of vital signs, rooming the patient, performing phlebotomy, specimen collection, dressing changes, medication administration, scheduling patient appointments and procedures, documentation of care in the healthcare record which may include documentation assistance as a scribe, proposing orders, performing specialty specific care with appropriate training; assisting in ensuring smooth patient flow; and assisting provider and case manager in managing patients.
Maintains a clean work environment, reporting defective or missing equipment and safety hazards. Assists in disaster planning and activities.
Provides feedback on the, and assists in the improvement of, quality of care being delivered to ensure that Joint Commission and other regulatory standards are met as they apply to the department.
Ensures availability of drug stock supply, other supplies, and equipment by completing daily inventories of various medical items and submitting supply requests for replacement. Perform equipment inventory and maintenance. Completes daily quality control testing and documentation of blood glucose meters where applicable.
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with other employees.
Procurement, Clean/Organize office.
Act as a mentor or train for the CMA team.
Work with department leadership to provide input on process improvement opportunities and support implementing change process.

A certification from an accredited certified medical assistant program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-supervisory - A minimum of 4 years of Certified Medical Assistant experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
&middot; Certification in Basic Life Support required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from any of the following: National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from National Healthcare Association (NHA) or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).</div>
