I. Job Summary<br>

The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in the most professional way, ensuring that customers' needs are met on a continual basis for various waste pickup and supply delivery. This role will always provide the highest level of customer service possible. They may also transport waste from either a WMHS location or customer location, to a transfer location or processing location. All Company assigned vehicles are equipped with camera telematics which include inside and outside cameras. In addition, all vehicles are equipped with ELD (electronic logging device) and GPS (global positioning system).

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<br>
</p><ul><li>Manages assigned routes ensuring customers&rsquo; waste is picked up in a safe, timely and accurate manner</li><li>
Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, provincial, and local rules and regulations</li><li>
Plans daily schedule based on customers&rsquo; needs by reviewing daily paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, previous VCR, etc. provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher</li><li>
Follows routing software route schedule</li><li>
May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the day ensuring enough supplies are added. Required to unload trucks at various Stericycle and customer sites; including ensure securing of waste</li><li>
Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day. Ensures that customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, provincial, and local rules and regulations before transporting</li><li>
Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts daily, communicating any issues to Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc.</li><li>
Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicle on public highway</li><li>
Ensures that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing. Ensures DOT Driver Log is completed, if applicable</li><li>
Communicates with Stericycle Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding any change to route pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc. Ensures that employee covering for specific route is aware of any situations outside the norm in order to provide the highest level of customer service. Reports any problems/issues with accounts to Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher before the close of business each day</li><li>
Performs pre-trip and post-trip maintenance on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day. Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up. </b></h1><p>Resident Services Coordinator I (RSC I) is responsible for developing, coordinating and monitoring the individual program plan for each resident assigned to them. This includes the intake-assessment-program review team process, employment-vocational-educational activities, and progress and treatment activities.</p><p>
RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li>
Conduct intake procedures with assigned residents (e.g., review BOP regulations, Agency/program policies, rules &amp; regulations regarding employment, privileges, contraband, conduct).</li><li>
Work with assigned resident(s) to develop &amp; implement individual program plans, goals, &amp; meet with residents on an on-going basis to ensure compliance (e.g. review program reports, logs regarding conduct, completion of assigned tasks, incident reports).</li><li>
Supervise, monitor, and document the needs of assigned residents identifying and coordinating appropriate activities and participation, in-house and in the community, including educational/vocational/ employment acquisition and performance activities. Ensure compliance with VOAC policies and procedures, and Federal Bureau of Prisons.</li><li>
Participate as needed in the provision of programs groups/classes, including counseling programs, T-DAT and out-patient treatment programs.</li><li>
Coordinate and monitor resident releases from VOAC including the development and verification of community release plans in compliance with program procedures.</li><li>
Maintain complete resident files on each assigned resident in compliance with program procedures, Federal Bureau of Prisons and ACA standards.</li><li>
Document and record case activities and reports via the electronic case management database; review case files to ensure on-going audit-ready status.</li><li>
Participate in Program Review Team Meetings.</li><li>
Act as an advocate for assigned resident(s) with outside entities, which provide needed programs &amp; services (e.g., housing, employment, alcohol, substance abuse, prescription drugs) in order to determine client eligibility, ensure program criterion are met, identify barriers to success and ways to overcome such.</li><li>
Perform coverage duties as needed (e.g., conduct alcohol/drug testing, issue incident reports, maintain logs, files, records; screen visitors; respond to inquiries from family members, probation/parole authority authorities regarding violations).</li><li>
Drive on company business and/or transport clients as required.</li><li>
Participate in the provision of pre-service and in-service training for staff as directed.</li><li>
Participate in 40 hours of annual training as mandated by VOAC, Federal Bureau of Prisons and ACA. New candidates must complete 120 hours of employment within the first year of employment.</li><li>
Maintain and demonstrate working knowledge of VOAC policies, procedures and operational procedures, as well as contractual obligations established by Federal Bureau of Prisons and ACA standards.</li><li>
Attend staff meetings and other VOAC work-related meetings and functions.</li><li>
Assist in ensuring the facilitys compliance with the American Correctional Associations standards for accreditation.</li><li>
Represent the program to the public, community agencies, and funding sources, professionally and appropriately.</li><li>

The RSC I position requires a Bachelors Degree in a field of human services, criminal justice, social work or other related field.</li><li>
With 1 year of employment experience in human services, corrections, or community- based services provision with various populations is required.
</li><li>Experience with community corrections services is preferred.</li><li>
RSC I candidates should possess effective oral and written communication skills.
</li><li>Ability to develop effective working relationships with residents, staff and community partners are also required.
</li><li>Strong organization skills, problem-solving skills and judgment are desired.
</li><li>Preference will be given to those with proven record keeping, report writing skills and other case management skills.
</li><li>The successful candidate must also have a working knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheet programs.</li></ul><p>
OTHER</p><ul><li>
This position may require driving a company and/or personal vehicle. Must be privileged to drive according to the criteria set forth by Agency MVR guidelines.<ul><li>
