As part of the AES Clean Energy EPC Business Services Team, the Contracts Manager will help ensure a successful contract strategy for utility-scale renewable projects through development, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations. The Contracts Manager will help guide the development and implementation of contract documents in construction RFPs and the negotiation of these documents with EPC contractor partners in accordance with AES standards and directives. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Principal Project Manager - Design Manager will function as a design liaison and coordinator for Amtrak&rsquo;s Sawtooth Bridges Replacement program. This position requires the ability to work independently to collaborate with stakeholders and project partners, build consensus, identify, manage, and control change, as well as support the development and procurement of contract documents, fit-for-purpose construction documents, and audit work for quality assurance. The role requires continual monitoring and progressing of multiple aspects of on-going design efforts. The Sawtooth Bridges, originally built in 1907, have far exceeded their useful life. Located in Kearny, New Jersey between Newark Penn Station and Secaucus Junction, the bridges have become a chokepoint on the nationally significant NEC. The Sawtooth Bridges Replacement Project will achieve a state of good repair, enhance the reliability and resiliency of rail service, and allow for future capacity improvements along this critical corridor of the NEC. This project is an integral part of the overall Gateway Program. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>
Manage the design process, ensuring compliance with Amtrak standards, federal/state/regional regulations, and project objectives.
</li><li>Regularly review design progress and resolve design conflicts in collaboration with stakeholders.</li><li>
Serve as the primary liaison between the design team (DOR) and the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).

 Civil Project Manager
 
 to lead complex civil engineering projects in our growing
 
 New York office,
 
 located in Tribeca. This senior-level role is ideal for an engineer ready to take full ownership of project delivery, strengthen and expand client relationships, and help drive the continued growth of our practice.

 This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in the office three days a week for client meetings, collaboration, and professional development. While we offer flexibility, this is not a fully remote position. For a Project Manager, in-person time is especially important for building client trust, mentoring staff, and strengthening team relationships.
 
 
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing

 Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong relationships and successful project outcomes.

 Lead project delivery from proposal to completion, managing schedules, budgets, contracts, and quality.

 Drive business development by pursuing new opportunities, writing proposals, and expanding KPFF&rsquo;s client base.

 Oversee and review technical design work for site development and infrastructure projects.
 </li>

 Navigate New York and New Jersey permitting, zoning, and agency coordination (e.g., DOB, DEP, DOT, and local utilities) to ensure compliance and smooth approvals.

 Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and public agencies to coordinate all aspects of project execution.
 </li>
 <li>
 Mentor, train, and guide engineers at all levels, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.

 Represent KPFF in client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations, contributing to the growth and visibility of the New York office.

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Civil Engineering (Master&rsquo;s a plus).

 PE license
 </li>
 <li>
 8+ years of civil engineering experience, with a proven track record managing site development and infrastructure projects.

 <li>
 Demonstrated success in business development, including client relationship management and securing new work.
 </li>
 <li>
 Advanced knowledge of New York and New Jersey permitting, codes, and regulatory processes, with experience guiding teams through agency approvals.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong leadership skills and confidence managing teams, projects, and client expectations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
 </li>

 Ability to work in the New York office for at least three days to participate in client meetings, team collaboration, and professional development.

 The expected salary range for this position is
 
 $130,000 &ndash; $170,000
 
 , aligned with candidates who bring at least 8 years of experience, proven project management skills, and business development success. Final compensation will also consider education, licensure, and overall skills. We also provide performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions.
