The Development Associate reports to the Chief Development Officer and serves as an integral member of the Development Team. This position is responsible for updating and managing the donor database, gift processing and donor acknowledgements, reports, prospect research, reconciliation of gifts and providing related administrative support functions for the Children&rsquo;s Museum Houston and our sister museum. This position will assist in all aspects of fundraising including individual annual campaigns and major gifts from corporations and foundations, including fundraising events. This position requires a high level of independent thinking and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ability to manage multiple projects and determine priorities, approach tasks proactively, a high functioning attention to detail, and flexibility are required. Excellent writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills are also essential for success in the position.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Job Duties and Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>
Maintains all Development Department (individual, corporate, foundation, and fundraising) files and mailing lists; ensures accurate and current records are maintained in the database; processes all gifts and prepares donor acknowledgements</li><li>
Maintain the overall database integrity, including data input, data improvement, data auditing, and other database functions</li><li>
Gives direct assistance to the Chief Development Officer as requested. Performs research on prospective donors using all resources available to the Museum, including identification of prospects and list management</li><li>
Drafts and typescorrespondence, proofread materials, organize and maintain files, prepare for meetings</li><li>
Support operational needs of annual fund, capital campaign, endowment, and various campaigns</li><li>
Provides support to all Development Department Committee meetings, including overseeing the meeting notices, preparing information packets for the Committee members, taking minutes at the meetings, and distributing the minutes following each meeting</li><li>
Assists the Fundraising Events Manager by providing administrative support with all fundraising events (some evening hours required); responsible for purchasing many of the event supplies; assists with the organization of the silent auction for the annual gala, including solicitation of auction items</li><li>
Updates Donor Wall of contributors in Museum lobby as well as other signage (retrieving giving histories of all donors to ensure accuracy; contacting donors to ensure accuracy of preferred donor listing) and donor signage throughout the Museum</li><li>
Maintains a stewardship plan for donors and ensures all benefits have been provided.</li><li>
Provides appropriate documentation and summary of contributions for the audit and Annual Report</li><li>

Scotiabank&rsquo;s Power &amp; Utilities Investment Banking team is a leading coverage investment banking platform. The team is actively involved with a wide array of regulated utilities, independent power producers, private equity and infrastructure funds, and renewable energy developers. The Associate will have the opportunity to immediately and meaningfully contribute to live transactions including sell-side and buy-side M&amp;A, capital raises, and equity and debt lending for leading Power and Utilities platforms and Financial Sponsors.</p><p><br>

A significant amount of effort, diligence and initiative is required to properly execute assignments. The complexity of clients&rsquo; financial requirements coupled with the intense competitiveness of the investment banking industry necessitates a full commitment to the task at hand. Standards are very high as most work is presented to senior executives at client firms and supervision is provided only to the extent that it is required.</p><p><br>
With a limited hierarchy of professionals and a small project team approach, Associates have ample opportunity for career growth and development. On any given project, Associates will interact with other departments of the firm such as Corporate Banking, Equity Capital Markets, Global Fixed Income and Global Equity Derivatives gaining knowledge and understanding of both investment banking and the capital markets.</p><br>

Responsibilities:</b></p>

<li>Evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models</li>
<li>Creating marketing materials and presentations</li>
<li>Supporting transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time</li>

<p><b>Major Activities Include:</b></p>

<li>Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create and maintain models</li>
<li>Collect, consolidate and interpret company and industry data</li>
<li>Financial and written analysis of companies and industries</li>
<li>Preparing client presentations, including compiling data and assembling presentation materials</li>
<li>Supporting drafting of prospectuses, related documentation and marketing materials for transactions</li>

<p><b>Requirements:</b></p>

<li>2+ years&rsquo; work experience in Investment Banking or the power/utilities sector preferred</li>
<li>Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science or Technology</li>
<li>Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities</li>
<li>Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Excellent command of Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis on Excel</li>
<li>A high level of attention to detail</li>
<li>The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work</li>

 <div>The <b>Patient Advocacy Coordinator</b> is responsible for assisting patients and/or families to access financial resources for Pharmacy co-pays. The Advocacy Coordinator assists patients who may qualify for assistance through Not for Profit Organizations and Manufacturer Programs. They are responsible for navigating the system to find resources that best fits the patient&rsquo;s needs, aid patients by explaining the process, assist in filling out applications and going over the documents that will be required to complete the application.</div>
