The Office of Inspector General is the independent oversight body for Chicago&rsquo;s approximately 500 public, contract, and charter schools. The Office of Inspector General is charged with the responsibility of investigating allegations of waste, fraud, and financial mismanagement in public education within the jurisdiction of the Chicago Board of Education. The Office's Sexual Allegations Unit (SAU) investigates allegations of sexual misconduct by a CPS-affiliated adult, including employees, contractors, vendors, and charter schools, where the victim is a CPS student and/or a minor.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Job Summary:</b></div><div>
Reporting to the Inspector General, the Deputy Inspector General, Sexual Allegations Unit will direct investigations and manage the OIG&rsquo;s Sexual Allegations Unit which is tasked with investigating allegations of sexual abuse and/or harassment of CPS students by CPS-affiliated adults. This is a full-time exempt position that will be paid for time worked based on a salary basis.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
The Deputy Inspector General will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Review and edit investigative summary reports</li><li>
Supervise, develop, and manage the performance of SAU teams, including managers, investigators and support staff involved in case intake, case management, special projects, report drafting, and case closing to ensure compliance with OIG and SAU protocols and practices</li><li>
Monitor assignments and track performance to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion in compliance with established quality control standards, provide guidance and support on concerns to ensure efficient operations</li><li>
Coordinate with outside law enforcement entities, child protection agencies, CPS&rsquo;s Office of Student Protections, and others, as appropriate</li><li>
Analyze and interpret CPS policy and state and federal laws applicable to SAU investigations and projects</li><li>
Manage the drafting of presentations to the Board of Education concerning SAU matters</li><li>
