Position Summary</b></p>
<p>
The Warehouse Operations Coordinator supports the Warehouse Operations Manager. The coordinator will be based at Nourishing Hope&rsquo;s headquarters location in West Town. The coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations of running a food pantry warehouse including: leading and supervising volunteers, accepting and ensuring food safety of incoming donations, preparing pallets for transport to other locations, managing outgoing and incoming pallets of food, and maintaining warehouse inventory. This position requires the employee to spend most of the day moving around the site and working with and around other people.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Schedule and Locations</b></p>
<p>
This is a full-time position reporting out of 1716 W. Hubbard in Chicago. The work schedule is <b>Tuesday-Saturday</b> and hours vary slightly on different days but all take place between 7:00am and 4:00pm.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Essential Job Functions</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead shifts of volunteers, which includes teaching them to sort through incoming food donations, to build and wrap pallets, to pack boxes, and to organize the warehouses.</li>
<li>Manage deliveries of food going out to other locations; ensure that the correct food is sent in accordance with truck schedules.</li>
<li>Act as an ambassador to incoming individual volunteers and groups, educating them about the mission and functions of Nourishing Hope and giving tours.</li>
<li>Supports or facilitates training for volunteers and staff as needed to ensure consistent warehouse standards and procedures.</li>
<li>Operate a forklift, pallet stacker, and pallet jacks; safely move pallets of food around the warehouses and in/out of trucks/vans.</li>
<li>Assist the Warehouse Operations Manager in maintaining an inventory of the warehouse and entering inventory into spreadsheets.</li>
<li>Learn, adhere to, and teach Nourishing Hope standards for food safety and quality.</li>
<li>Receive and record donations from vendors and from individual donors.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining the warehouses: report or correct safety hazards and help with day-to-day facility needs. This can include duties such as helping with trash removal, general cleaning, and occasional snow shoveling.</li>
<li>Communicate needs, issues, and schedules with the Warehouse Operations Manager as well as with other Nourishing Hope staff.</li>
<li>Work with the Warehouse Operations Manager and other team members to maintain and improve food flow systems and inventory.</li>

Minimum Requirements</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Aviation)</li><li>
2 to 4 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, or large-scale service environments; a four-year degree may substitute for experience</li><li>
Veterans and transitioning military candidates encouraged to apply, especially with logistics or leadership backgrounds</li><li>
Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays</li><li>
Preferred: experience in large logistical operations (air cargo, warehouses, transportation, ramp operations)</li><li>
Ability to obtain a TSA airport badge</li><li>
