<div>JOB SUMMARY
Assists and acts in the absence of the Chief Engineer to oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Directs general construction and the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Assigns, verifies and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system. Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members. Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.

BUSINESS RESULTS

Implement, manage, and comply with Company policies, practices, and programs.</li><li>Ensure compliance with brand standards and local, state, and national regulations.</li><li>Ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to guests.</li><li>Walk the property daily to identify issues and to speak with and listen to associates.</li><li>Ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place to protect assets and maintenance related problems are promptly and properly addressed.</li><li>Inspect and evaluate the condition of the Engineering areas, equipment, and inventories.</li><li>Investigate, analyze, and report on all incidents and accidents.</li><li>In conjunction with the General Manager, coordinate activities and liaise with local and federal law enforcement agencies, fire companies and insurance agencies to resolve problems and ensure a safe environment for guests and associates.</li><li>Generates costs comparison and solicits bid/proposals as needed.</li><li>Submit recommendations for changes and improvements to the General Manager.</li><li>Work collaboratively with the Corporate Office to ensure Company assets are accurately tracked.</li><li>Direct all emergency programs including equipment maintenance and inspections, staff training, practice drills, accurate recordkeeping and compliance with all policies, procedures, codes, and regulations.</li><li>Direct and promote an accident prevention program to minimize liabilities and related expenses. Ensure appropriate sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures are in place, followed and comply with policies, standards, and regulations. Ensure the staff is proficient in sanitary, safety, security, and emergency procedures.</li><li>Notify the General Manager of any potential liability and propose proper course of action to prevent the hotel from incurring any such liability. Make recommendations to the General Manager on additional safeguards as appropriate. Practice safe work habits.</li><li>Ensure associates are properly trained in the use and maintenance of Company assets.</li><li>Communicates with hotel department heads to become aware of maintenance needs and ensures timely response to internal requests.</li><li>Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Assigns and instructs all direct reports in details of work. Observes performance and encourages improvement. Monitors hotel traffic and makes staffing adjustments accordingly. Supervises and reviews costs and inventory.</li><li>Conducts disciplinary action as required for those directly supervising.</li><li>Conduct 90 day and annual performance evaluations for the engineering staff.</li></ul>

Assists with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities including monthly reports and attending meetings as required.</li><li>

Essential Duties:

Responds to Facility Service Work Orders from building occupants. Requests may include plumbing, HVAC, lighting, roofing, and electrical service calls. Diagnoses building management/energy management systems for faults and errors.</li><li>
Troubleshoots fire/life/safety, security and other building infrastructures.</li><li>
Observes and complies with all company safety policies. Uses required personal protective equipment while satisfying all work requests. Follows all established corporate and customer safety policies and ensures crew does the same.</li><li>
Collaborates with other technicians to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems, demonstrating proficiency in interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings.</li><li>
Completes all required paperwork timely and accurately. Takes readings from normal equipment and makes timely entry into appropriate logs. Takes and logs readings from critical equipment and takes appropriate corrective actions before system outage occur.</li><li>
Uses tools and equipment that are standard issue and do not need further calibration or adjustment. Keeps tools and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.</li><li>
Works on and completes all the facility team-based goals. Identifies opportunities for process/system improvements and implements them as they are approved.</li></ul>
Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED. 
Technical degree in related field is preferred.</div><div>
Current universal refrigeration license and /or other trade licenses as required.</div><div>
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.</div><div>
Principles of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work. 
Principles of heating, ventilation and cooling systems. 
Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. 
Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under stress, and meet short deadlines. 
Demonstrates a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. 
Good communication skills (oral and written). 
Must be punctual and dependable.
