TRENCH SHORING COMPANY

<div>This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, as directed by the Truck Shop foreman, on vehicles ranging from autos and pickups through class 8 trucks and trailers, knuckle-boom cranes, forklifts, small motor driven equipment and other rental equipment. While assuring shop and field work compliance with all regulatory standards, the Truck Shop mechanic is also responsible for maintaining equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies and by making adjustments and alignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Promote and actively participate in the company Health and Environmental, Safety and Security Programs.</li><li>
Maintain equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies and by making adjustments and alignments.</li><li>
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.</li><li>
Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, and by performing corrective maintenance as required by work order priorities.</li><li>
Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics and suspensions. Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.</li><li>
Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.</li><li>
Follow all company and truck shop safety rules.</li><li>
Participate in safety meetings and branch audits.</li><li>
Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.</li><li>
Maintain vehicle records by recording services and repairs on work orders and by notifying the shop foreman of repair requirements.</li><li>
Keep shop equipment in safe operating condition by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies and performing preventive maintenance.</li><li>
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications.</li><li>
Provide on-site support at various company branches; this role requires a willingness to travel and the ability to work independently outside of the primary repair facility also.</li><li>
Must have and maintain a tool set adequate enough to perform all duties and responsibilities described within this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution</li><li>
5+ Years of experience working as a fleet mechanic in the following area.<ul><li>
Heavy duty diesel truck repair</li><li>
Hydraulic crane repair preferred.</li><li>
Off road diesel equipment repair.</li></ul></li><li>
Certificates, licenses, and registrations required:<ul><li>
Must possess a valid and clean commercial Class C Driver's License issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Class A driver&rsquo;s license is highly preferred.
</li><li>ASE certifications preferred in Diesel and or heavy equipment tech.</li></ul></li><li>
Knowledge of engines, transmissions and controls</li><li>
Knowledge of brakes and suspensions
</li><li>Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment</li><li>
Skilled in DOT inspections</li><li>
Other skills required:
<ul><li>Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills</li><li>

Be physically able to routinely lift 70 pounds but are expected to not lift anything over 50 pounds on a recurring basis.</li><li>
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus</li><li>
The employee must frequently wear Trench Shoring Company mandated safety equipment (including but not limited to high-visibility vest, hard helmet, approved safety glasses and safety-toe boots).</li><li>
