<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Responsibilities</b></h3><div>
<ul><li>Conduct independent, comprehensive background research to develop refined client-facing materials.</li>
<li>Produce diverse communication materials with minimal guidance, showcasing a foundational understanding of client needs.</li>
<li>Ensure error-free materials through meticulous proofreading before team refinement.</li>
<li>Maintain and refine media lists, draft pitch materials, conduct media outreach, and establish foundational relationships with reporters.</li>
<li>Conduct regular media monitoring (traditional and social) and create coverage reports for a range of clients and industries.</li>
<li>Assist with managing projects, including taking notes in client meetings and on conference calls, tracking client deliverables and deadlines, managing task spreadsheets, providing activity reports and upholding timelines.</li>
<li>Perform background research and create briefing materials for the account team in preparation for meetings and calls with existing or potential clients.</li>
<li>Support new business initiatives by conducting background research, sourcing media clips, pulling case studies and proposal content from existing materials, as well as assisting in administrative tasks like arranging prep meetings, organizing resources, and monitoring project timelines.</li>
<li>Assist in training interns and new associates on GSG's voice and processes.</li>
</ul></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Qualifications</b></h3><div>
<ul><li>2-4 years of experience in strategic communications or public affairs within corporate, government, non-profit or agency spaces, political campaigns, or a related industry</li>
<li>Strong writing and verbal communication skills with proficiency in distilling complex information with thorough knowledge of AP Style.</li>
<li>Experience using digital communications and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, blogs, etc.</li>
<li>Team-oriented with a positive attitude and expertise in building strong relationships.</li>
<li>A natural problem-solver with good judgment, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage up.</li>
<li>Skilled at working under pressure, ensuring quality and organization across multiple tasks.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications</li>
<li>Experience with media intelligence tools such as Quorum, Muck Rack, Infegy is a plus.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science, public affairs, public policy or other relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>
<li>Bilingual or multi-lingual abilities are a plus.</li>
</ul></div><div><i>The base salary for this position is between $65,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience plus eligibility of a discretionary bonus. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will communicate the mission of Catholic Charities to strengthen the organization&rsquo;s public profile and advance its mission. S/he will help develop, implement, and manage a storytelling pipeline to capture the critical work Catholic Charities is doing to help strengthen the organization&rsquo;s public profile among prospects, donors, media, and partners.<br>

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is both a collaborative thinker and independent contributor with a passion for telling impactful stories that drive donor action. A strong candidate will have a keen editorial eye and strong marketing instincts, always curious to discover new stories and<br>

<b>Job Duties and Responsibilities </b>include the following:<br>
Storytelling (50%)<ul><li>
Create CCNY website content for posting biweekly or weekly that demonstrates the impact of CCNY&rsquo;s mission serving vulnerable New Yorkers in need across the region.</li><li>
Manage distribution of weekly digital subscriber newsletter in partnership with the Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising and Direct Marketing.</li><li>
Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Chief Advancement Officer work on special projects and videos.</li><li>
Develop, implement, and manage systems that include workflows and documentation for storytelling pipeline.</li><li>
Liaise with development, program, and agency teams to secure out stories of impact.</li><li>
Liaise with Chief Advancement Officer, Director of Marketing, Director of Government Relations, Director of Community Engagement and outside Public Affairs firm on marketing, public relations strategy.</li></ul><br>
Content Marketing (40%)<ul><li>
Content Development: Write and develop compelling marketing materials, including website content, news articles, social media posts, brochures, and other promotional materials. Ensure content aligns with the brand voice and messaging strategy.</li><li>
Draft original content and guide, edit, and adapt content developed by development and marketing colleagues to increase visibility and profile.</li><li>
Support media relations, including monitoring CCNY&rsquo;s public profile, drafting content and sharing recommendations to raise the organization&rsquo;s profile.</li><li>
Under the leadership of the Director of Marketing, manage press and media on website.</li></ul><br>
Social Media (10%)<ul><li>
Manage the work of the Marketing and Communications Specialist who is responsible for updating the monthly social media calendar and weekly social media posts to grow a community of followers and donors on all channels.</li><li>
Convene a group of &ldquo;selected staff&rdquo; to serve as social media contributors to share our work and impact directly with our audiences and amplify our mission and increase engagement.</li><li>
Manage and guide the Marketing and Communications Specialist who is responsible for influencer program to engage with celebrities and key influencers to advance CCNY&rsquo;s messaging.</li><li>

Superior English language writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with focus and experience in synthesizing complex content into essential, compelling messages for a range of mediums including one-pagers, reports, white papers, website, social media, and press.</li><li>
Ability to independently problem solve and drive your own work across multiple fastmoving projects in a complex organization with effective prioritization.</li><li>
Excellent project management, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.</li><li>
Prior experience with WordPress, Sprout, and DAM systems preferred.</li><li>
