Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking a Distribution Engineer for a REMOTE WORK role to support electric utility projects in the Greater Kansas City area. This position allows the candidate to work remotely, but they must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Greater Kansas City area in order to support local projects.

Orbital Engineering&rsquo;s Utility Services Department partners with Utility and Communication Companies in Engineering and Construction operations for Joint Use Pole Attachment Programs (JU) and Distribution Engineering Design Projects.

This position will directly support projects within the Utility Services Department&rsquo;s pole attachment application process and utility distribution design process.

Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Prepare and develop distribution voltage construction packages for both overhead and underground projects, including distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and pole replacements as part of an infrastructure improvement program</li>
<li>Assist with distribution line design 2.4kV - 34kV</li>
<li>Work with Designers and Engineers to prepare new drawings, modify existing drawings, or create as-built documents</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation of proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules</li>
<li>Provide technical support for customers and support regional business development initiatives</li>
<li>Provide quality reviews of work prepared by others and adhere to the QA/QC process</li>
<li>Prepare calculations and assist with equipment specifications</li>
<li>Evaluate loading of various equipment components being installed such as transformers and structural loading of poles to ensure a cost-effective, safe and reliable design utilizing client specifications.</li>
<li>Visually identify, inspect, and record equipment and different construction situations in the field, including rights-of-way</li>
<li>Apply National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards, Client Standards, Federal, State or Local Municipal Guidelines, and/or other applicable guidelines to complete engineering designs (Pole Replacements, Communication Space Rearrangements, Joint-Use Design) for possible joint-use or make-ready construction</li>
<li>Ability to analyze field collected data (including imagery) and accurately update applicable software packages for successful design implementation</li>

<div>Summary

As an Intelligent Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for leading development and delivery of automation solutions to solve business challenges; ensure and measure solution quality and value and define processes to ensure security and quality.

The ideal candidate has experience across several fields including but not limited to, RPA development practices, software architecture, design/code-reviewing, agile planning, and critical thinking with a good understanding of overall business context and technical risks. This is a highly collaborative role in an emerging space for the organization, so flexibility and communication skills will be key to success in this role.

Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Responsible for technical design, development, &amp; maintenance of RPA applications &amp; their associated components.</li>
<li>Collaborate with business and technical SMEs to define automations, business rules, and exceptions.</li>
<li>Analyze process automation requirements and design robotic process automation solutions, architecture, and logic.</li>
<li>Develop a comprehensive test suite of automated unit &amp; regression tests for each process.</li>
<li>Identify and create reusable automation components.</li>
<li>Implement Bot throughput logging, auditing, and exception handling.</li>
<li>Support, debug, and correct any issues with Production Bots as part of COE.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain documentation Process Definition Documents (PDDs), Software Design Documents (SDDs) for all Bots according to COE standards.</li>
<li>Collaborate with business teams to perform regular &lsquo;Health Checks' on Production bots/processes.</li>
<li>Protect all client and bank information confidentially and follow all company policies.</li>
<li>Understand, communicate, and instill the Company's mission, vision, and values (Pillars of Success).</li>
<li>Complete monthly training in a timely manner to ensure knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.</li>
<li>Working at the worksite during regular business hours and/or assigned hours.</li>

The Intelligent Automation Engineer position pays a minimum of $135,000.

Requirements:
Skills
<ul><li>Ability to accurately break down complex application designs into component deliverables and estimate development effort &amp; timelines.</li>
<li>Strong ability to troubleshoot, identify root-cause and resolve production issues, as reported by the business users.</li>
<li>Self-motivated, able to work independently, and able to take initiative without always being directed.</li>
<li>Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize the most critical tasks and projects.</li>

Education &amp; Experience
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Systems Engineering is required.</li>
<li>Minimum 3+ years as a UiPath RPA Developer required.</li>
<li>2+ Experience in object-oriented programming required (C#, C++, VB, Java, or Python preferred).</li>
<li>UiPath RPA Developer Advanced Certification is preferred.</li>
<li>Extensive experience using UiPath to develop automation solutions is required.</li>
<li>End to End bot development experience using UiPath Studio is required.</li>
<li>Experience as a solution architect for UiPath process automations is preferred.</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements
