This role manages schedules, handles call-ins and open shifts, collaborates with leadership on staffing decisions, and supports HR filing as needed to maintain regulatory compliance.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Develop, maintain, and adjust daily and master schedules for assigned departments, ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts.</li><li>Monitor census, acuity, and staffing levels; proactively adjust assignments and staff mix to meet patient care and operational needs.</li><li>Respond promptly to call-ins, absences, and shift changes; fill open shifts using PRN, float pool, and approved agency staff according to policy.</li><li>Communicate staffing changes and variances to department leaders (e.g., DON, Nurse Managers, HR, Payroll) in a timely manner.</li><li>Track attendance, tardiness, and unscheduled absences and provide reports to managers per facility policy.</li><li>Process and document PTO and schedule change requests in accordance with established guidelines.</li><li>Maintain accurate data in scheduling/timekeeping systems and collaborate with Payroll to support accurate time and pay.</li><li>Support recruitment activities as needed, including posting positions, coordinating interviews, and assisting with pre-boarding/onboarding tasks.</li><li>Ensure compliance with internal staffing policies, union/contract terms (if applicable), and federal and state labor regulations (e.g., overtime, rest periods).</li><li>Prepare routine and ad-hoc staffing reports and metrics for leadership (e.g., open shifts, overtime, agency utilization).</li><li>Provide courteous, professional customer service to staff, leaders, and external partners.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED required, associate&rsquo;s or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in staffing, scheduling, or HR coordination; prior healthcare or 24/7 operation experience strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience using workforce scheduling or timekeeping systems (Homebase, ,ADP, or similar).</li><li>Working knowledge of staffing practices, overtime rules, and basic labor regulations.</li><li>Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with staff at all levels.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfort with learning new software systems.</li></ul><p>Schedule</p><ul><li>Full-time, primarily Monday&ndash;Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to support staffing operations.</li></ul><p>Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour</p><p>Work Location: In person</p>

Assists the Business Administrator with the day-to-day management of budgetary, financial, personnel and administrative functions for a college.

1. Provides financial accountability and ensures compliance with State and university guidelines by functioning as certifying signature authority.
<br>
2. Manages the monthly reconciliation of accounts and generates monthly financial and budget reports for departments and centers.
<br>
3. Administers personnel and payroll activities to include reconciliation of payroll records and salary reallocation process.
<br>
4. Assists department staff with personnel issues and maintains personnel files.
<br>
5. Participates in the development of the annual budgets.
<br>
6. Trains and provides guidance to departmental staff regarding the use of university forms and the application of university and college policies and procedures.

7. Supervises support staff and student workers as assigned in the central business office and/or Dean's Office.
<br>
8. Develops and maintains informational databases for the college.
<br>
9. Represents the college on behalf of the Business Administrator as required.

Performs pre-travel and post-travel administrative support to faculty and students within the Biology and Biochemistry department at the University of Houston. Ensures all State and University policies are adhered to while effectively communicating travel policies to both faculty and students.<br>

1. Participates in the management of the Department's internal travel operations.<br>
2. Initiates the creation of travel requests, travel reports, and travel reimbursements according to the University's travel policies.<br>
3. Assists management with the supervision of student employees.<br>
4. Facilitates the coordination of travel-related problem resolution, communication, and document preparation and processing with departmental faculty and students.<br>
5. Attends travel related trainings and business meetings as necessary.<br>
6. Serve as the travel coordinator and T-Card custodian for the department, ensuring T-Card guidelines are strictly followed.<br>
